I just use John Riley sticks fir everything now...and i dont really pay much attention to the tip...it does its job really well and doesn't break easy...I used to use "VATER" John Blackwell series...but out of stock already...
duct tape always helps clean up the dirty sound...and it comes in many different exciting colors....hahaha.....trust me....the real duct tape not the plastic brown ones.....they suck....

me and kev are reat friends..and we call each other and compliment our drummings...he says he would copy some of my simple rolls....and I always says to him...I wish i could play as fast as he does with hardpack....U have until 30 to make up ur mind...ur only 22 and ur suposed to feel confused....get ur own band so u can share ur experience....sitting and thinking is just a waste of time....immediate action...
My advise...IMMEDIATE ACTION !...
if u HOLDa groove for more than 5 mins....
start ur own band...write and play weekly....text books are foundation.IMPORTANT...
BUt playing is experience !!..
Form ur own band ! ASAP....get gigs and go to skool during your performances.performances is ur tests @!!!!! peace..jk
hi Ka hou...How r u? i remember u, MOTO was a really fun gig...haaha.....well, as far as sticks i do love thin sticks and i have ok big hands.., my drum tech recommended the ZILDJIAN- John Riley singnature coz it feels like a cross between 7 and 5 sizes...the hands feels like 71 vic firth but the middle part feels like a 5 for the weight....and its very very durable coz I play Hard...for practice, i have a vic firth SD 1, for pad practice...I dont practice as much as I should, but am in central these days when I have time to sit in with bar bans and playing a set or 2......thats the only time i pracice....haha
I been playing the timbales a lot these days..with a latin band....97..but i just go when I am free to sit in and jam....I love doing that....thats the only way to improve my drumming , is to get my ass kicked with the big guys out there....great musicians and most of all great people.....hope my advise helps...
