Reading bout Schapelle Corby's story, I couldn't help but feel intrigued by the whole propoganda that belies her until this very day. She was arrested in Bali 2004 for alleged marijuana smuggling in her boogie board bag. She is still serving a 20-year prison sentence in Kerobokan Prison, Bali.
After stumbled upon media rage and friends' revelations, I can't deny that it's very disturbing as how the revelations that Schapelle did it. Interview with Jodi Power, a close friend of her sister's Mercedes, Jodi shocked the public by keeping open about Corby's past and family secrets. I think if Schapelle really intent on smuggling it, why would she do it openly? First, she didn't lock her bag and the weight of the marijuana is 4kg. It's a big package and not possible to hide it, let alone pass by customs.

I'm sure Schapelle is very well aware of the consequences for drug offenders in Asia where it can spell death penalty. Why would she sacrifice her freedom for being a drug trafficker? She wants to have a family and being 20 years in jail? Out when 47? Schapelle wouldn't do that.

During happier times with mom, Rosleigh. To sum up the whole hearing, I feel that she didn't get a fair trial, the investigation didn't carry out fingerprints, cctv , testing of the marijuana and proof of her bag weight before and after. In the end, the police burned the whole bag and Schapelle was left in distraught. Her brother, James Kisina who travelled with her to Bali stayed out of the spotlight during her trial and the public pre-sumed if he had actually planted the marijuana in her boogie board bag and Schapelle took the responsibility. Speculations created more questions.

Schapelle pictured in her daily life in prison, where she takes up gardening and beading to pass the time. Her book "No More Tomorows", assisted by Kathryn Bonella tells all of her fears and trauma in prison. Kathryn moved to Bali and helped her to come out with this book which later saw controversy from judical point of view, stating profits from her book sale will be prohibited.

All in all, I just think that the media have certainly played an intense part to feed public curiousity. HBO took over to heed a documentary aptly named "Ganja Queen" and her book is a massive hit.
Go figure.
