Went to the doctor this afternoon, and he gave me some antibiotics & pain reliever.
Had a late lunch at a near resto & took the medicines immediately after.
Problem is, I’m allergic to almost anything! Early this evening, I noticed I’m having a little allergic reaction, I don't know which of the medicines have caused it.
I think I’m going down with another colds & a fever. sigh…
I’m not very close with my grandfather, but he’s very dear to me.
I remember when I was hospitalized back in 1997, he would come visit me whenever he's in town. Even if my folks weren’t around he would still drop by at the hospital (so kind of him). During one of his visits, he told me that I should take up Medicine in college, because, according to him, doctors & nurses have to be pretty (he should say that, he’s my grandfather & maybe he was just trying to make me feel better).
My aunt mentioned to me before, that even if my grandfather doesn’t show much emotion, he loved his children dearly.
He was humble & very generous; he has helped so many people. In return, he was loved & respected. And that showed during his funeral. In our tradition the coffin is to be carried by the male relatives, but even those we’re not related to, requested to give them a chance to carry my grandfather’s coffin, they wanted it to be their last service for him .
It's been two years since he left us...
I haven’t been much of a good granddaughter to him (which I regret), but I hope he knows how much he means to me & how I wish he’s still with us.
Today marks my grandfather's 2nd year death anniversary.
While browsing through some old tapes & CDs, I realized how I missed the wonderful music of the good ol' 80's: Cyndi Lauper, Madonna, Lionel Richie, Prince, Elton John, Wham, Debbie Gibson, Tiffany, Peter Cetera, Phil Collins, The Bangles, uhmmm... Air Supply?
This is the kind of music we, kids of the 80’s grew up listening to (aside from the 60’s & 70’s music– influence from our folks).
And of course, you're not a child of the 80's if you haven't been a huge fan of no less than the King of Pop, Michael Jackson (Billie Jean, Heal the World, Dangerous, Man In The Mirror, Smooth Criminal).
Anyways, those of you who know of MJ's "Dirty Diana" & find it a very cool song, then you just have to see this one!
Whether you’re a fan or not, you have to admit, this video is damn HOT!!!
When I first saw this video, 15 years ago (from MJ interview with Oprah), I begged my Mom to buy a tape of MJ’s Dangerous album; the song is soooo good! And don't you just love Slash? I sometimes wonder what lives in that huge hair of his, haha! (Who loves Gun’s n Roses ‘November Rain’?)
My list ofandrogynous men, a response to AgnzM blog about pretty boy Lee Jun Ki.
Lee Jun Ki from "The King & The Clown". One of my few favorite korean films.
He looks so feminine. Too pretty, don't you think?
I hardly notice good looking guys unless they're celebrities, especially those with androgynous look. But not those whom you might mistake as drag queens with their heavy make-up & silly outfits, as most visual artists are.
Malice Mizer
They look creepy.
Seriously, don't you ever wonder what they really look like? when they wake up? after they shower? do they stay pretty even without those heavy make-up?
The Gazette
No offense, I like “The Gazette”, they're cool!
Androgynous men I'm referring to are those who are naturally pretty with or without make-up, but still look masculine enough.
David Bowie
Richard Oakes Ville Valo
Brett Anderson
Gackt
And if you are familiar with the Johnny’s, almost all of their talents represent the term "bishounen".
Matsumoto Jun
Hideaki Takizawa
Yet with how plastic surgery is such a big fad now a days, we don’t know which of these guys are artificial beauties. (There were rumors that Kame Kazuya & Akanishi Jin have their doctors to thank for their looks).
Kame & Jin
And of course, there is Björn Andresen, hailed as the most beautiful boy.
I just found out about him this month when I was searching for old movies to watch. He plays the pretty boy Tadzio in the 1971 film “Death in Venice”.
I’ve read from wikipedia that his looks were the inspiration of many manga artists, especially of Keiko Takemiya.
“Not the tenderness
of friendship, nor the beauty of earth, nor of heaven,
could redeem my soul
from woe; the very accents of love were ineffectual.
I was encompassed by
a cloud which no beneficial influence could penetrate.”
-Mary Shelley-
The longing of a light that never shined upon us; of a smile we never witnessed. The untold pain & agony that led to one's emptiness; a soul conquered by hate & anguish.
Can this sadness
that torments us be one's proof of existence or an end of a life that once was
ours?
Life’s miseries; a torture we try to endure.
We all suffer from it, yet it affects each & every one of us differently.
Some come out of it victoriously, some were not as fortunate.
What may be another person's sorrow may not be as bearable as ours...
"Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies insides us while we live.”
