Just messin' around in Virtual DJ on Saturday night. Classic juke, ghettotech, booty and other Chicago/Detroit goodies, with some acid, disco, jazzdance, grime and dubstep thrown in for good measure before winding it down.

Some filthy language, so beware. Wanted something new to listen to at work next week - figured I'd share it with y'all as well. Feedback is welcome :D

Another new mix - practice set with some new (to me) tunes that arrived in the mail via Discogs over the past few months. A mish-mash of drum n bass, dubstep and techno. Some obscure atmospheric gems that you may or may not have heard from the mid-90s era. Just messin' around, so there are some dodgy mixes, but eh, give 'er a listen anyway. Let me know what you think. Enjoy!

Have always listened to eclectic music, and will until I'm unable. Full-on vinyl junky. I prefer the harder-edged, the experimental, and imperfections. Sometimes just prefer chillin'.

Here's the story: was living in Wisconsin, got some random techno comps circa 1992 -- Rave Til Dawn, Turn Up The Bass... you know the type. Began buying Midwest acid records, hard techno, hardcore, ghetto house, whatever was in the dollar bins, wherever a road trip took me. Went to my first party primarily to see Astrocat play a live PA, as I had his record on Drop Bass Network. Around '96, got heavily into drum & bass. Started playing out more often. Started working for Massive Magazine.

Over the years, have played at events alongside a whole bunch of people in the electronic scene who are more famous than me -- some names: 3D, Alexi Delano, Bad Company, Chris Liberator, Chris Sattinger, Dan Efex, Danny the Wildchild, Dara, Davros, Delta 9, Derek Plaslaiko, Doormouse, Dylan & Facs, Eye-D, Fanon Flowers, Fishead, Funk D'Void, Heiko Laux, I-F, Johannes Heil, Justin Long, Laurent Ho, Lenny Dee, Manu le Malin, Mark EG, Mark N (of Nasenbluten), Mark Verbos, Mixmaster Morris, Neil Landstrumm, Nick Nice, Panacea, Phantom 45, Phuture 303, Rowland the Bastard, Scott Hardkiss, Slam, Starscream (#0 of Slipknot), Steve Silk Hurley, Stunt Rock, Technical Itch, Tommie Sunshine, UFO!, Venetian Snares, Woody McBride and many many more...

Since moving to Seoul (and subsequently on to Hong Kong) several years ago, I haven't been playing out much anymore, but still love to play. In HK, had a weekly jazz residency -- Hard Boiled Jazz -- as Lemmy Caution, playing sounds from bebop to free jazz to trip hop at Pop Bites for a while. Now mostly just jam out at our classy Mystic Junk Studios in To Kwa Wan. This year's goal is to produce a couple of tracks, and maybe play records at an event if anyone's willing. :) Feel free to contact me if you are; will play for beer.
