Road Trip Day 6 Cont’d – More San Antonio

On our only full day in San Antonio, we chose to have a pretty chill day visiting, among other things, the Alamo and Trinity University, Jonathan’s Alma Mater. But first, as always, we had a breakfast that should be too big for any human being, but still nevertheless, consumed by a skinny white dude and two small Chinese. And yes if you’re asking that’s bacon, sausage, ham and eggs sandwiched by two amazing pancakes. Also, that is the biggest pancake that I have ever seen gracing Jonathan and Zarifa’s plate. My panca...Read more

Words like “thank you much” and “howdy” I have never used in 34 years of my life until this trip.  But they are fun words to use.  And the more I hear these idiosyncratic words and phrases, the more I appreciate the Southern accent.

Though exciting, I was ready to take a break.  Sit down and sleep in the same place for a few days.  That place was to be Austin, a location of BBQ, the Southern drawl and a site of a close friend’s wedding.

It is also where I will meet up my best mate and his wife who are also going to said wedding, a...Read more
