The One Foundation recently hosted the 'One Family, Walking Together' memorial event to mark the one year anniversary of the May 12th earthquake that struck Wenchuan County in Sichuan, China.

Among the artists who came to support was Hong Kong actor and alivenotdead.com co-founder Daniel Wu. Daniel took the opportunity to sit down with the One Foundation's founder Jet Li for an informal interview to share some information about the Sichuan Earthquake memorial event and the goals of the One Foundation. Daniel's blog about his visit can be seen here.

Hi everyone, thank you all for the positive messages and support. It is simply phenomenal to hear from so many of you, and it is even more meaningful to see all of you taking an interest in a worth cause and sharing your compassion.

As the week-long remembrance continues, here is part 2 of the 2 part mini series that we shot when we returned to Sichuan to visit some of the children that we have helped.

Happy early Cinco de Mayo everyone.

The 5th of May brings us about 1 week before the 12th of May, the day of the 2008 Sichuan earthquake. As part of a week-long remembrance campaign, here is the first of an exclusive 2 part mini series honoring the victims of the earthquake.

Courtesy of Vincent Lee, this video depicts Jet's and the foundation's work in Sichuan immediately after the quake.

Jet is taking a quick detour to Beijing and Sichuan to attend the anniversary remembrance of the Sichuan Earthquake. Afterwards, it's on to New Orleans to continue shooting. More updates on the way.

Also, speaking of traveling, Jet sends his regards to everyone and hopes that everyone remains alert and healthy in the wake of the recent flu outbreak.

Born in Beijing, Jet Li began studying wushu (the Chinese term for martial arts) at the age of 8. After three years of extensive training, Li won his first national championship for the Beijing Wushu Team. Jet Li was selected by the government to represent the country in over 45 countries by performing martial arts at various state functions. The most famous, in terms of history, was his 1974 performance at the Rose Garden of the White House for President Richard Nixon, after he had just reopened American diplomatic relations with China. For the next five years (1974-1979), he remained the All-Around National Wushu Champion of China.

Shortly after retiring from the sport at the age of 17, his film career kicked off with director Chang Hsin Yen and Shaolin Temple. Today his film credits include Lethal Weapon 4 opposite Mel Gibson, Romeo Must Die, The One, Kiss of the Dragon, Hero and The Warlords. He most recently wrapped photography on The Mummy 3: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.

Li is a Red Cross ambassador and founded the One Foundation, a Chinese-based organization whose goal is to develop China's nascent philanthropy industry. One of the main program areas is to help young people cope with mental well-being and find a balance in life.
