  • Clockenflap Music festival -Hong Kong

    Thursday, Nov 19, 2009 12:42PM / Members only

The day began early afternoon with a spicy bloody mary and a few drops of rain.  Not a typical Sunday by any means in Hong Kong, not due to the weather or choice of beverage, but the  convergence of locals for a music festival.  Clockenflap.

Here are some photos from the day:

Jay FC AKA Dj Bohdi layin down the sick tracks with his son and protege Tristan!

I have to make some comments about a couple of performances that really made an impression on me.  First, Fink, who is completely new to me, and a very unexpected surprise.  His solo on stage acoustic performance was so engaging and intimate that at times he had to apologize because his content was a bit sad.  But the Lo-Fi resonance of his guitar and voice was, at times heartbreaking, but nonetheless brilliantly crafted -the crowd was seemingly spellbound.  He was a great artist to take us from daylight into the darkness, literally.

Here are some photos from his performance:

Another performance of interest was by a band called Yacht from Portland, Oregon.  They are creating music that is very inventive and theatrical, and it is this theatrical element that makes them so much fun to be a part of during live performances.  They have totally embraced their "theatre kid geekiness" and created incredibly entertaining alter-egos for their music on stage.  A lot of their songs have a driving electronic beat, that gets people dancing, and their proselytizing, at times philosophical, statements and advice about life tip toes across a line of the absurd.  After the show, we had the chance to meet up with them, and they were really quiet and introverted...a very nice couple.

Here are some photos from their performance:

  • Halloween with the mini diana camera....

    Tuesday, Nov 17, 2009 7:09PM / Members only

Well, I know I'm quite behind on my comments about Halloween night, but without saying much I will let my pictures speak for themselves.  As some of you may know I dressed up as a 60's "erotic" photographer and had an old diana camera with me.  I think most people just assumed I was snapping away with a fake camera, but as you can see, It was indeed real, and captured some eccentric moments.  See if you can spot yourself!

Thanks for a great party Alive not Dead.

    Jesper
