I moved to Northern Cali temporarily and decided to try a new form of martial arts. I went to Fairtex and took a Muay Thai class. Although I knew Muay Thai is a form of boxing and will be different from Wushu, I was intimidated right when I walked in. The place was a huge warehouse with a large boxing ring in the middle. There were probably about 50 ripped half clothed men in their boxing gears punching bags and each other with gloves and pads. What did I get myself into I thought. However, once class started and we jumped rope for about 10 minutes, my anxiety slipped and I was ready to see what Muay Thai is all about. I was given 2 long pieces of fabric that was to be wrapped around my hands and a set of gloves. We started off punching and kicking pads that my instructor held and then moved on to bags. Although I really enjoyed what I learned today, I don't think Muay Thai is for me. There's something about forms and the use of weapons that I absolutely enjoy.

Today is the last day of our almost 3 week of Wushu training in Shandong, China. Some students from my Wushu School in LA came to take a 3 week intensive training at a Wushu School here with our coach, Eric Chen. It has been a very tough and worthwhile experience. Although my body is sore and my ankles, knees, and back all have aged several decades, this trip is definitely worth it.

Here are some of the kids we trained with. They are only about 10 years old but can do higher jumps and spins than anyone I've ever seen!



On weekends, we went sightseeing. We visited Changyu Wine Culture Museum. Yummy Chinese wine =)

A horror I worked on finally premiered! It was at the Linwood Dunn Theater in Hollywood, CA. My mother, sister Virginia, and my friend Monica came and supported me =) I'm really happy with the film, everyone was scared, wohoo!
