Sorry been meaning to update my blog for aaages but havent had alot of time since having my baby!  Just a quick update for now.

I had a little boy on 1st April (April Fools day I know eh??) after a whopping 3 days of labour!!!!

Less said about that the better, I only had pain relief in hospital for the last 10 hours of the labour when my natural birth plan flew out the window as I was too tired to push after no sleep or food for 3 days!  God bless epidurals is all I can say.

Daniel was born weighing over 8 pounds and is very tall just like his dad :)

Im happy but knackered its amazing that something so small can literally take up my whole day, one minute its 8am then whoosh!! Its 6pm already.  Cant believe he is over 6 weeks old already!

He is good baby just has a bit of colic so Im soooo not sleeping.  Sleep deprivation is used as a method of torture I believe.  Damn its effective I can attest to that.

I miss the JLMB hopefully I will get more time to post as he gets older.  Looking forward to Forbidden Kingdom loads but will need to wait for DVD release I think.

Danny watched loads of old Jackie Chan movies with me whilst in the womb so Im thinking he will also be a MA movie fan hehe.

  • Marmite!

    Yes Marmite.

That black stuff spread on toast by crazy Brits and their relatives (more or less Vegemite for you aussies).  Its a yeast based spread and renowned for being loved or hated.

Its consuming my dreams.  No Im not craving pickles and ice-cream, just lashing of toast with marmite and cream cheese.

But this is a good thing as I spent most of the first six months of pregnancy losing weight and not eating much at all.  My body has now decided to go into overdrive and Im hungry 24/7.   Its a feeding frenzy.. put me in front of a bag of doritos (share size) and its like white sharks round the carcass of a seal.

Im going to be huge if this carries on.

Ok but whining aside, thank you for your comments peeps.  Im fine just really busy at the moment.  I have been unwell a fair bit with constant nausea, bronchitis and a bad back, consequently Im absolutely bloody knackered by the time I get home from work and spend all weekend resting so I can cope with work for the next 5 days.  Such a wimp eh?

I finish work in a week and half and I so cant wait.  Should be online a bit more after that as I will become a lady of leisure for a couple of months.  Right now Im so damn tired Im having daydreams about my bed

Hope everyone is keeping well.  I miss smelly Jet Li MB.

Weeeel going from having nothing to blog about, I do have something *waggles eyebrows*  AND a good excuse for being awol.

    Im up the duff :D

3 1/2 months preggers and got the vomiting, heartburn, tiredness and cravings to prove it ^^

I have never been so damn happy to feel so incredibly shite ever lol, very odd feeling.  Took me a very long time to get preggers and thought I would never have kids so "over the moon" does not quite describe how I am feeling.

Too tired for a lengthy blog but thought I would share with the peeps some of the things they dont tell you about pregancy:-

    * 9 months my (expanding) ass, its 40 weeks not 9 months they lie!!
    * "Morning sickness" is a complete misnoma, its all bloody day sickness.  And when I retch... I sound like an old drunk man retching, not the delicate vomitus one would expect from a lady.... urm woman such as meself it so damn loud!
    *  Superpowers.  Yes I officially have a superpower.  I can smell better than a sniffer dog.  God forbid anyone near me has eaten gherkins in the last... week because I know it AND then... the pukage starts ew.  I need to find a finacial worthy job for my superpower.
    * Bad news, scary stories.  I mean as soon as I tell someone people Im preggers they feel they just have to tell you the scariest stories they.. their friend... their niece's newphew's auntie's brother's next door neighbour's... scary and horrific pregnancy and birth stories.  It seems no one I have ever known had a simple birth <.<

    Ta ta for now.

    Sunday party

Lying on a blanket on the grass in rare sunshine watching stormclouds build

Playing lawn badmington with kids I dont even know

Listening to randomly produced banjos and people singing scottish folk songs

Eating too much and drinking way too much cider

Holding hands with the same person you have held hands with for 13 and a half years and knowing that it never gets stale

I love summer even when its rainy

Hi! You were wondering about a good sci-fi TV series. Don't know if you've already seen it, someone at work has been watching the series on DVD with her daughter & said they've been enjoying it. It's from awile ago I believe, here's a link to some links about it.

Re: the question about the Kalachakra, don't know the answers about that particular image, but check out this link & click on the pic to see a bigger example. That one is done in colored sand & part of the ceremony of building it is to sweep it all away at the end, to symbolize the impermanence of life:

Yeah we climbed all the way to the top. I bought my mom the certificate that she climbed all 246 steps cause by the time we went to Stirling, we'd walked all about Glasgow and Edinburgh, her legs were mad at her :P

My uncle said that that every time's he's been in Edinburgh, that statue's got a cone on his head. -l- I -had- to snap a pic :P

No I haven't finished it yet, I'm only at St Francis Folly, it's similar to the last one, she has all the new 'prince of persia' style moves, but it's basically the original game although the levels play slightly differently. It's really good, some of it isn't as hard as I remember it the first time round, but I remember it being a really long game, definately longer than the last one!

Hello Jen. I saw your name in the forum and I thought I'd pop in to check you out. Come pay a visit.

Yes I live in Scotland. The transition wasnt too bad for me as I had visited the UK alot whilst growing up in SA so knew what to expect of most things. Only thing that I struggled with (and still do) is the lack of daylight in winter.. of all things lol. Im permanently sleepy in the middle of winter. I left SA when I was 19, and its a place that changes so quickly its always a shock whenever I go back as it looks so differant.
How often do you visit it?

    Why Mexico?
My husband was sent here by a telecom company,he set up his own business which works well. His doesn't enjoy working for others and setting up your own business in Europe, especially Italy is tough.

    So,that's the main reason.
I'm not really South African, but I spent most of my teen years there.Left in 92,haven't been back.I missed it a lot when I left.Europe seemed so tamed,I missed the vast open spaces and the winter skies.I oftened avoided mentioning S.A because back in the early 90's, that would mean getting into looong political conversations,in which I had to say what people wanted to hear.

Do you live in the U.K?Was the transition easy for you ?
