Announcement

  • Other people's opinion of you does not have to become your reality. Those who follow the crowd usually get lost in it. I don't know the key to success, but one key to failure is to please everyone. Don't waste time doing what others will tell you. Do what makes u happy.

    A Mother's day presentation...

I created this video as a gift for my Mom on Mother's day.

I love her very much and am proud of her.

Today, let us give honor and homage to all Mothers,
without whom we would never have come to be in this life.

    Happy Mother's day!

  • Back from the land of "broken spanish"...

    Thursday, May 1, 2008 10:45PM / Standard Entry / Members only

Just got back from a 10-day vacation in my hometown, "el ciudad de mi nacimiento" (the city of my birth).  Too bad my husband wasn't able to come because of work, and as I expected, everyone asked where he is.

I never realized how much i missed Zamboanga until I saw my family and friends again after several years, of course without getting away with the "Quetal ya man tu? Ya tarda ya yo contigo no ay mira."  (How are you? Its been a long time since I've seen you) or "Cuando tu oliji ya bene aqui?" (When was the last time you've been here?).

Our dialect Chabacano is a mixture of the Spanish language, about 60-70%, and several local dialects in the Philippines, hence, "broken Spanish."

I was amazed by the many establishments sprawled in the city.  I would have never recognized the place if I wouldn't have known it's Zamboanga :)  My dear friends were very kind and patiently enough toured me around.

I also visited my old school and was very surprised with the big change.. it was better of course. Perhaps far more better than during my time, or when I left at 1995.  I, most especially had fun meeting once again, my old teachers, who are, surprisingly, still teach there.  They didn't recognize me until i said my name.. maiden name that is.

Although my stay was short, I have never had so much fun being with my family and friends.  The next time I visit, I will definitely bring Bob.

more photos in my album soon...
