Lürzer's Archive just released their new edition of the "200 Best Illustrators Worldwide" book and yours truly has two special places in its heart. This is the second 200 best Ilustrators book that I've been lucky enough to be included in!

If you don't know about these amazing books, read this little tidbit about it below from the Archive site:

Do not simply be content with any kind of illustration. The 200 Best Illustrators is the perfect tool for those wishing to turn their advertising into little works of art.

Numbering no less than 292 pages, this impressive volume showcases the world's best illustrators.

The latest edition boasts an excellent mix of familiar names and new talents. Just 49 illustrators featured in the previous two issues managed to keep their place in the current 200 Best, and are now joined by 152 new artists. Selection was made from 4,716 submissions received from 44 countries.

And there was a further hurdle to scale before submissions could even be considered. Only those nominated by an ad agency art director or a publisher were eligible to present work - which must have appeared within the last 18 months - to the two-tier jury. Those who made it through this arduous process truly do merit the title "200 Best Illustrators."

So what are you waiting for? Run, walk, or skip to your local book seller and pick up a few for you and your buddies.

Anthem Magazine Interview

Sell some lemonade, save some clams, and buy the first ticket on to the glory train towards Anthem Magazine. What will you find at the end of the tracks? A midget in a bumblebee costume doing the electric slide? Close but no enchilada! Instead, you will find a short interview about yours truly. Yea, I guess a midget doing the electric slide would've been better. Anywho, check it out right over HERE!

Jasper Wong x Rebel Scholar Iphone Cases

My Iphone cases are locked, cocked, and read to rock! Here is some info via Hypebeast:

Known for his colorful and graphic interpretations of pop icons such as Mr. T in conjunction with ample amounts of cartoon inspiration, perennial Archive Magazine Top 200 Illustrator and artist Jasper Wong recently transfered his creativity onto the medium of an iPhone case with REBEL SCHOLAR. The case features an interesting transparent design which allows lights through the outlines of the characters. Each case comes package with a series of stickers which include El Lucha Gold, Unicorn Pirate Silver, Toasty Bandit Bruiser, Chairman Wow Blue, and Pitiful Fool Pink. Der Lauf Der Dinge

I stumbled upon this little gem recently and I remember watching it back in art school. Just wanted to share a little bit of history with you all.

Here is a short tidbit about the video:

Der Lauf Der Dinge was created by artists Peter Fischli and David Weiss in 1987. Their homemade Rube Goldberg machine– constructed inside a 100-foot warehouse and mobilized by fire, water, chemistry and the law of gravity–is a meditation on chance and probability, as well as a hypnotic display of causal relationships.

During the 1980's the Chinese government attempted to create their very own slanty-eyed Communist-loving Hulk Hogan. However, the experiment failed, and Jasper Wong was thus born. As a small child, Jasper spent much of his time attempting to grow chest hair through mental telepathy and Kung Fu chopping small babies with his dainty Asian fists. As years passed, he learned to accept his genetic hairless deformities, and instead focused his time drawing portraits of the A-Team.

Today, Jasper Wong has a frosty illustration style that developed around an odd and unhealthy obsession with the color pink, Mr. T, and magical laser beams. Yet somehow it all combines into his own unique clash of Asian-influenced pop culture on paper. Jasper has had shows in Japan, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, France, London, Chicago, Hawaii and San Diego and has been selected by Archive magazine as one of the 200 Best Illustrators worldwide two years in a row. He has also been recognized in prestigious art publications such as Communication Arts, Society of Illustrators, American illustration, and Taschen's Illustration Now.
