JEANNE HARTMAN, Hollywood acting coach to professional actors for over 20 years, brings her expertise to Hong Kong for the first time.
Ms. Hartman teaches the craft of acting using The Group Theater Stanislavski philosophy. This group became the “Legends in American Theater” including Stella Adler, Lee Strasberg, Elia Kazan, Clifford Odet, Sanford Meisner and Barbara Loden, which led to the Actors Studio where famous actors from Marlon Brando to Robert De Niro studied. Ms. Hartman teaches preparation for film and television acting learned from her work with Mark Travis and Lawrence Parke. Her performance studies at Juilliard and theater training with Herbert Bergdorf add to Ms. Hartman’s ability to discover which technique is best for each student.
Ms. Hartman’s many years of performance on stage in plays and musicals across the country and her acting experience in front of the camera, prepared her to become a respected acting coach and teacher in demand by actors, agents, managers and producers.
Ms. Hartman combines the American acting approach with the British method to give professional actors a diverse combination of techniques to prepare for their professional career.
Most importantly, Ms. Hartman knows that
BELIEVABILITY IS THE BOTTOM LINE TO GREAT ACTING.
“Jeanne Hartman, first and foremost among the many coaches…” says Lawrence Parke, respected teacher and author, in his book, The Film Actors’ Complete Career Guide. American talent manager Roz Tillman declares, “I trust my clients with Jeanne. I know they’ll be properly prepared.” S. Bugden, producer for Hallmark, states, “Jeanne has the uncanny ability to zero in on EXACTLY what is needed to improve any scene.”
Writers and directors as well as actors have found Ms. Hartman’s coaching and scrīpt analysis invaluable.
Her clients have appeared in major film and television productions including: Jurassic Park III, Seinfeld, Frazier, Friends, King of Queens, CSI shows, Seventh Heaven, West Wing, Ally McBeal, Nash Bridges, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Better Luck Tomorrow, Judging Amy, Walker Texas Ranger, General Hospital, The Bold & the Beautiful, The Guiding Light, The Young and The Restless plus hundreds of pilots, HBO projects, and many more.
