I have mixed feelings about working on this film. On the one hand, it offered me the opportunity to return to the US to work with some friends and it put a considerable amount of money in my pocket that I wasn't used to. But on the other hand I was creatively frustrated, and to be honest, I hated my performance. I watch it and see a complete amateur. My acting was forced and result oriented, and never in the moment.

I guess, money is great and being in such a huge film gives you a lot of visibility but I'm just not happy when I don't feel like I'm making an important, creative contribution.

However, I do like the film. I thought it was the best in the trilogy thus far and I thought Justin Lin (the director) did a fantastic job in this genre. His visual style, editing, casting and music resurrected the franchise and this was confirmed when he was brought back to direct the 4th installment with the original cast.

In retrospect, it was a good learning experience. And I got to use a steadicam!

hi jason, me & phat hv seen Tokyo Drift, u r so kool!! And i think u r so lucky to be in this film. i like this director too, although he deleted so many scenes of urs, sorry bout that, but this is a nice film.

this is e movie i got to know about ford mustang! i love it!!!!
although im a initial d fans, but this movie is awesome!
esp e part when couple of cars drifted downhill at the same time rather than in initial d, there were only takumi, ryousuke and kyouichi...
