• 5月５日　Kabuto & Koinobori ♪

  May 5th is called "Kodomo no hi(children's day)". Traditionally,has been a festival for boys, but is also for children. I have just brought "Kabuto(samurai helmet)" out from closet to display. for the first time in three years!! While i was looking for it, the date has changed to the 6th :-p You know i didnt decorate Hinamatsuri dolls on girls festival, March 3. Thus traditional events at home might die out....

  

  

  The most famous Kabuto today must be "kabuto with the letter of love(愛)", because Satoshi Tsumabuki, who has played Kanetsugu Naoe,the feudal warlord, wears it in NHK period drama,"Tenchi-jin". haha

  

  In addition to Kabuto, you can see "Koi-nobori(carp shaped streamers)" outside of houses. The carps are said to climb waterfalls without giving up,so they symborize success in future.

  for grown-ups, another carp's song, the rooters song for "Hiroshima Toyo Carp" professional baseball team may be familiar. Hiroshima citizens go crazy in the stands!!! historically they had been raised the money to keep the team for dealing with the financial crisis.　In fact the team was established by Hiroshima prefecture in 1949 to encourage citizens and atomic bomb sufferers and has been managed without owner firm. awesome!!!   Japan's Golden Week holidays end today. In the news I saw traffic tie-up on expressway for the reduced tolling on an economic measure and crowded airports with immigrations tested for H1N1.

  Unfortunately, the weather isn't  good this weekend. Accoding to the forecast, it rains too heavy to open an umbrella :-p

  so i got some indoors weekend plans. Do you see???

• Japan Traditional Art & Craft Exhibition

  Before my trip. had been busy with preparation for exhibition organized by Japan Traditional art and craft Association. It was established in 1982 and my mum has been  President now for two years.held exhibitions including Kimono wearing show in foreign countries, Hungry, France,Vietnum,US, Mongol, and so on, to raise peoples interest in japanese traditional culture.consists  various artists and members designated  "national living treasure". 

  from 8th to 9th in May they plan to have exhibition in Hong Kong as  a event of Japan and Hong Kong Sightseeing memorial year. If you have interest in japanese art and crafts,  pls visit there and enjoy Kimono wearing demonstration. will post more info later.

  traditionally we exhange betrothal gifts with Mizuhiki between two families. money or list of gift are in folding papers.made from long thin strips of Washi paper .tightly twisted into Koyori strings.there are various way of tying th Mizuhiki.

  BTW i saw  modern arts at the exhibition exceptionally.

  2 weeks went really quick since i came back from Hong Kong.  Finally I can post  randam pics of HK Filmart. cant wait to see these chinese films.For  detailed information on Filmart and Film Festival,  look at Etchy, Frederic and other members blogs pls.(lazy me)

  Luckily, I came across Vincent there!!!!!!!  though i have seen his nice pics in his page, he is much  better-looking,  slender, tall, kind and funny  in person!  nealy fainted away.... after i became  concious, asked him to do shooting his greeting message to you. to my regret  I gave a laugh during shooting.  sorry Vincent, I don't think I'm quite cut out for making video :-p
