  • RICOH or PANASONIC?

    2009-10-12 2:59AM / 標準BLOG

thick cloud layer soon after the typhoon...

The big typhoon #18 made landfall to mainland Japan with full force after 2 years. In Tokyo, caused a traffic disturbance; all flights were grounded, most trains stopped during morning commute on Thursday. I was ok because I had a room near the office from the night before. Thank you for always caring about me.

Well, Ive got a new camera, Panasonic Lumix, just before my Kyoto trip. actually I've been wanting to get one and talked about it with Elle and Bartek. they both recommended me to get Lumix and I did. haha As Im not a good photographer, often jiggle my hand. At the shop I tried to shoot pics by shaking cameras. In fact, Lumix was good to avoid blurring of images due to hand movement.

I decided to get FX60 as its new and lightest of all. I also loved its bordeaux color. If you are a big fan of  Ayumi Hamasaki, must buy.

Its my first Barbie which I came across at a discount chain store, Don Quixote for 999 yen (I prefered toy cars, action figures and fake guns to dolls in my childdhood)

seems to be a limited edition!!

well, try comparing pics to see which camera you like.

As somebody told me, Ricoh is not good to shoot pics inside.Let me know how do you think.
as far i failed to take pics of stars at press conferences so often. hope it will get better!!

BTW after checking out Grease Barbie on websites....

I realized that it was sold at yahoo auction for 8000yen!!!!  I got it at the shop for an eight of what it costs there. the dress-up doll looks fun to play with, but I should keep it in a safe place in expectation of higher price. hehe

  • Fake Tanning

    2009-07-15 4:15AM / 標準BLOG

The Meteorological Agency has announced the end of the rainy season in Tokyo. How is the weather in your city? I can stand cold weather better than hot weather.I wish it were winter in the hot,  muggy summer. so, have changed my profile theme lol. Get cool with Snowman and a glass of iced tea.

lemon, pineapple and kiwi flavored iced tea @ cha-no-yu cafe

After work, I dropped by cosmetic counters to get a blonze powder. Actually I have a very light skin tone and easily get  rashes by receiving direct sun. can not able to do without the long-sleeved jacket to protect  my skin even on hot days. have benn wanted to make my skin look tanned and healthy.

hehe. I have gotten  not only "Terracotta Poudre des Sables" but also "Terracotta Huile du voyageur(nourishing dry oil)". was unable to resist the fragrance of Taire in the oil. had a feeling of being in Tahiti and bought it on impulse.

To tell the truth, wanted to add the eye shadow, but barely stopped buying. I think Guerlain cosmetics are 20-30 percent more expensive when you get them in Japan.

At Shu Uemura's counter, there was the eye-catching poster,"Tokyo lash bar 2009".

aww, it's too hot to wear those at this time!!!!!!

my question. Is there anybody who has ever used the Revita Lash? Does it really stimulate your eyelash growth? am a bit curious

  • Coffee Break

    2009-07-01 11:00PM / 標準BLOG

My favorite mug, Minton Haddan Hall's

    ・・・・ was CRACKED

I can't stay away from coffee. can't live without a mug.

But I couldn't decide whether I should use this brand-new one or not. it's one of gems in my collection, though it could be of no value to you. hmmm...

OK, it's time for a debut!!!

As I am a right-handed user, always put the edge of the cup, about Chen Daoming's (陳 道明) head to my mouse.

If you are a left-hander, would put around  Kelly's(陳 慧琳) hair to your lips

It requires some skill to put your mouth around other actors' heads,

espesially Eric's(曾志偉) and Anthony's(黄秋生) on the handle side.

Anyway, thanks for reading my silly blog. Take a coffee break.

    BTW...

The other day I missed the world premiere because of an unexpected work.  Deeply regret  as I have just found that  Daniel appered on the red carpet!!   S.O.L .

  • Dust Cover's Cover

    2009-06-19 6:00AM / 標準BLOG

    Hello!!!

Finally I've got the newly-published two-volume book at Kinokuniya Bookstore. Actually was brought out on May 29 and quickly sold out!!!

"1Q84(Ichi Kyu Hachi Yon/1984)" written by Haruki Murakami for the first time in 7 years has immediately become No.1 on the bestseller lists.already has sold about 1.2 million!! The content of the book was never advertised before its publishing, sells itself. Murakami's populality is truely awesome. Now I should stop watching DVD drama (have been watching " 衝上雲宵 /Triumph in the skies" ) to enjoy reading for a while

The Japanese bookstores have a unique custom of putting an original dust cover of a book for the customers. When you buy a book at Japanese major bookstores, the clerk will certainly ask you, "Cover okake shimasuka?" ("Can I put a dust cover on a book?") Then you should say just yes or no. Well, why Japanese likes to put cover's cover on a book?  in addition to protect the books, Japanese people  do not want others to see the title of the book in public spaces, such as in train, coffee shops  and etc. Japanese are basically shy people as you know.haha

There are a wide variety of bookstores's dust covers. They become collectors items and 書皮友好協会(bookstore's dust cover lovers accosiation) was formed in 1983. It is said that these covers are found only inJapan and Koreain the world. (enjoy  more Japanese covers  and Korean covers . ) Do you have such covers in your city?

Most of books on my shelf are put on the same dust covers of Books Kinokuniya(紀伊国屋書店), my favorite bookstore.  here are some of my books with the cover.

◆"A prayer for Owen Meany" by John Winslow Irving

    ◆"神雕侠侶 "by 金庸!!!

◆Books Kinokuniya, the main store in Shinjuku

◆books on safeguard against the flu,H1N1

    ◆various tea and sweets!!

    ◆get Shinjuku guidebooks for sightseeing

    ◆Japanese Idols!!! Shota Matsuda,Masaharu Fukuyama,Hiroshi Nagano...

    ◆Yon sama, unwavering popularity

Kinokuniya  was founded in 1927 and developes overseas branches. The main store locates in Shinjuku, Tokyo. It's not an exaggeration to say that Kinokuniya building with bookstore(1F-7F) , theater and restaurants(basement)  has been a center of Shinjuku culture. I am afraid that Shinjuku is incorrectly believed to be just a dangerous town to someone who has watched "The Shinjuku Incident".

look around Shinjuku to see its safe : )

    ◆omoide yokocho, bars street

◆Hato Bus, sightseeing bus, offers  unique tours around Tokyo

    ◆Shakuhachi(bamboo flute ) performer

And I met a writer who promoted his book on his business and life  in front of the bookstore.

He has enjoyed sales of more than one million yen as a 22 years old part time worker in shoes company. amazing guy!!

Omake pics: discontinued Kinokuniya pen with sleeping Hello Kitty.
