  This is my very first blog, for a project I feel passionate about. 

   

  For the last few years, I have been working on a film that to me is far more than that.  Just how much more has become apparent after we made it.  It delves into some of my favorite topics of cultural assimilation and the need to reach across to the unfamiliar, but has also opened my eyes to such issues as the mental/emotional health of students.

   

  DARK MATTER is a film that I think will stay with you and provoke many kinds of reactions.  I urge you to see it, and if you are so inclined, to tell people you know.  It premiered at Sundance last year and won the prestigious Alfred P. Sloan Prize.  Directed by celebrated theater director, Chen Shi-Zheng, it also stars the amazing Chinese actor Liu Ye (CURSE OF THE GOLDEN FLOWER, BALZAC AND THE LITTLE CHINESE SEAMSTRESS), Aidan Quinn and the ever transcendent Meryl Streep.

  Hi Janet,
  I've a technical question. I am very interested in short Film & MV production and esp. the artistic designing part. But I have no knowledge how it is at all (I know no one working in this field, and I m not studying in this field). I would like to know if there's any specific type of company / post I could go for? Could you give me some hints how should I approach the industry - a volunteer job/ intern or sth.?

  hope that "dark matter" appears in Brazil, we have few cinemas, then I think that can only see on DVD.
  You like to use political and social themes in your films? You think that the cinema is the best art that shows the society and can create revolutions in people?
