Cricket is a fabulous game and I have decided to upload the field positions to aid those with little understanding of the game
Okay, maybe thats not so helpful...
but here is some info on how popular cricket is taken from Wikipedia (and we all know...Read more
Pulp Sport is an NZ comedy and a new series started this week. Most of their skits are funny, some are not - it all depends on ones sense of humour. I just wanted to share some clips that I thought were funny:
Halfass - Halfass was born as a parody of how NZ versions of US TV shows are really lame, so instead of Jackass, I give you this weeks episode of Halfass ....

On Friday my daughter, I and 3 of her friends loaded up the car and headed off to Golden Bay, to stay at a work bach in Collingwood ( a perk of working for the Dept of Conservation). The bach was great - a quintessential kiwi bach. A bach is a basic holiday home, sometimes it is nothing more than a converted shed, though in recent times they have become quite flash. I like the older style and the childhood memories and emotions (holidays of adventure and exploration) that they invoke.
Okay I'm in dilemma - I love watching kiwi flicks (mostly) but don't like horror movies. I'm a real sook, they scare me and some of the images haunt me for a long time after. Even B-Grade horrors I watched as a teen pop into my head unbidden sometimes - urrghh, I don't need it (silly comedy horror doesn't count). I even struggle with thrillers though I can watch them if I have some one beside me and a blanket to hide under.
Well a recent release in the NZ movies scene is The Tattooist, but it is a...Read more
Went to make a cup of tea tonight and accidentally put the wrong element on - doh, so I melted a spoon (plastic handle) into the bottom of a pot. I didn't notice till the awful smell reached me, by which time the kitchen was full of smoke
. Yikes. I have got rid of all the smoke but the smell is still there. My cup of tea was good though
Still thats two pots and a kettle that I have ruined in about 3 weeks - what the hell is going o...Read more
Okay, I got this email yesterday and I thought it was funny, I hope it doesn't offend any American's on this site. The British make fun of the antipodes too and I don't like Bush. It is obviously not very recent - NZ is behind the times always (well mostways).....
TO THE CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA :
In light of your failure to elect a competent President of the USA and thus to govern yourselves, we hereby give notice of the revocation of your independence, effective immedia...Read more
Got to rent a couple of new release dvds on the weekend to watch with my girl
. We watched
Black Sheep
and
300
. I'm sure you all know 300, I didn't expect to enjoy it, and it was a bit gory and macho for me, but that said, I did enjoy it ! (David Wenham rocks, as do Spartans with Scottish accents
)
Black Sheep is a NZ black comedy, its supposed to be a comedy horror, but it is not very sca...Read more
okay, when I signed up to this site, I really didn't want to do the political blog thing, but this myspace bulletin that I received was so good that I have to put it on here and on bebo too.
A lot has been said about how to prevent rape.
Women should learn self-defense. Women should lock themselves in their houses after dark. Women shouldn't have long hair and women shouldn't wear short skirts. Women shouldn't leave drinks unattended. Fuck, they shouldn't dare to get drunk at ...Read more
I was lurking in the trademe (NZs version of ebay) forums today and came across an interesting plug for a discussion about a sculpture (and for the sculpture itself) that is up for auction now.
This sculpture is of three police batons that are shaped like penises, one red, one blue and one white. To understand the premise of this sculpture some knowledge of NZ history and current social and political issues is required. Just briefly; in 1981 the South African rugby team (The Spring Boks) toured in NZ. Th...Read more
