"Live Life, Love Unconditionally"
The theme celebrating my uncle's life..
With the recent events in the Middle East, Africa, Japan and now Portugal, it almost seems like so-called "rare occasions" are happening more often than not in our generation. It makes me think twice about life and how every day is that much more uncertain/precious. The relationships we choose to build/give up, how we spend our time/days/years, the people, places, things we devote our riches to...are we doing it wisely? Are we making a difference in our surroundings? or just going through the motions.. I'm a firm believer that you are either making a positive difference in the world, or you are not. Being neutral is not helping..
The crisis in Japan gave me a much needed reality check. Watching the events unfold live at my desk, seeing our colleagues in the Tokyo office in shock of the quakes, the world watching helplessly as mother nature takes its toll, a definite rare moment where humans can seem so powerless. I'm sure millions of people must be wondering if there is a God, why would he allow this crisis to happen? I really don't know. But I do believe that in times of tragedy, it's an opportunity for the world to come together, regardless of race/culture...and in those moments where we sacrifice our time, money, and efforts..we will see glimpses of God.
Living in Hong Kong, you just tend to be always busy with stuff. if you're gonna give back, you either give money or you give your time. It's hard to do both, but I thank all the PR companies and sponsors for giving me an outlet to make a small difference. With each event, I'm able to do what I love (DJing) and raise money for a global cause. It doesn't get any better than that. Thank You.
