I was so excited at the prospect of The Stone Roses getting back together to do a few gigs. However it seems to be just a cruel rumour as John Squiues appeared on Newsnight on BBC2 to say no such reunion was ever going to happen.
From the BBC website
A message superimposed onto a piece of art he said: "I have no desire whatsoever to desecrate the grave of seminal Manchester pop group The Stone Roses."
The Stone Roses were one of the most revered bands of the late 1980s and '90s, with their debut album still regarded as one of the landmark releases of British guitar music.
Damm it as would have loved to see them play live but i was way underage to see them when they were around which was 20 years ago.
Have seen the mighty legend Ian Brown live however would be a huge bonus if i got to see the original line up of Roses live. I can but dream................
I am a huge fan of Bon Iver and the album For Emma ,Forever Ago. I found this clip on you tube of Justin Vernon singing the title song For Emma ( a capella) in Paris..one word beautiful.
When i visit Tokyo i will check one of these bars out......wonder if the hostess men look like Takeshi Kaneshiro...now he would be worth paying out £130 for.
The winner of the annual Mercury Music Prize was announced in London last night and surprise winners were Elbow with their album 'Seldom Seen Kid'. The competition was hard with such artists as Estelle, Adele,Laura Marling,British Sea Power, Neon Neon, Burial, The Last Shadow Puppets, Plant and Krauss, Radiohead, Rachel Unthank and Portico Quartet. Previous winners of the award are Amy Winehouse, Franz Ferdinand, Antony and the Johnsons, Doves and The Verve.
Am a fan of Elbow and i have included one of my favourite Elbow songs Fugative Motel from the album Cast of Thousands.
I found this crazy clip on You Tube with Keanu Reeves it seems that they have attached the poor guy to a lie detector and because he is so sweet he goes through with it. You can see him squirming at some of the questions she asks ( i personally would have as well). It must be what famous people all have nightmares about being hooked up to one on a TV programme and not knowing what questions would be asked. Mr Reeves is just like a fine wine he just gets better and better with age and he speaks German What a man!
British with a Irish/French background the Irish side of me loves having the craic the French side has a bohemian/eclectic twist with a love the finer things in life.
