Today, did a very cool photo shoot, did a quick series of body movement, physical body shapes and will use them for an upcoming job. This one is called WHISPERS.
Turned this photo to the side and it's a mass of hair!! This one is called WAVES.
This play is a very well written play by Sarah Ruhl, an American playwright and premiers in Asia tomorrow night. I was lucky enough to be asked to be part of the creative team and designed the costumes. Set in the late Victorian time period, but with some very universal themes discussed about sex and marriage.

Can't wait to see this film. It is a film about Pina Bausch (27 July 1940 – 30 June 2009) who was a German modern dance choreographer and a leading influence in the development of the Tanztheater style of dance. She died 5 days after she was diagnosed with cancer and days into this project. This film just premiered at the Berlin Film Fest last week and with it, arthouse films go 3D. This was a very successful play in NYC by Sarah Ruhl. It is being put on here in HK by the HKPlayers and I've been asked to design and create the costumes. It's a very funny play, set in the Victorian era when electricity was just brought into people's homes and based on a real doctor who did experiment with vibrating instruments. Should be very very funny.

I didn't think this man would make me laugh, but spent an entire hour laughing. He is hilarious in an absurd way. He's a guy from LA, trained in France in mime, lives in UK now. Here's a good review from the Edinburgh Fringe Fest to get an idea of what he does for sold out audiences.

There is something so raw about her, her delivery, her percussive voice and the building into song. It's not that she is showing us her emotion, but showing just RAW emotion. It's not from her, but through her. She said somewhere once that performing in front of people, whether it's 50 at CBGBs or 50,000 in a stadium is exactly the same in intention, but you just send your energy in different ways and receiving from the audience in different ways.
