ifva greenlab自2006年開始，先後與非牟利組織綠色和平、商業單位如玉皇朝集團有限公司、金牌大風娛樂有限公司及7-Eleven、政府部門香港電影資料館等結為創意夥伴，爲創作人開闢更多創作、實踐的機會。今年度的創意夥伴為僱員再培訓局及可持續發展委員會。

The 17th ifva once again saw an outpouring of participation from talented producers.  After months of reviewing submissions, the Awards Presentation Ceremony was successfully held at the agnès b. Cinema in Hong Kong Arts Centre on 17 March.  The guests in attendance that night included artistess Anthony WONG, Teddy Robin, LEE Ping-bin, Mark (renowned Taiwanese cinematographer), Lars NITTVE (Executive Director of M+ at West Kowloon Cultural District), Clement CHENG (director of "Gallants") and Teresa KWONG (ifva Director of Hong Kong Arts Centre).

With a cutting-edge vision and highlight independent spirit, ifva is now renamed as incubator for film and visual media in asia (formerly the “Hong Kong Independent Short Film and Video Awards”), which continues to serve as a platform that actively promotes and encourages creative talents in Asia, making short films, videos, animation and interactive media and aims to engage everyone in the art of creation by connecting creative communities all over the world.

香港藝術中心主辦，康樂及文化事務署贊助的「第十七屆ifva節」將於3月13至28日舉行。ifva更藉此機會強化定位，改名為incubator for film and visual media in asia（前名「香港獨立短片及錄像比賽」），繼續積極扶植香港及亞洲獨立影像創作人，擔任全民影像創作推手。

ifva於2012年2月9日（下星期四）於agnès b.電影院大堂舉行記者會，請來評審電影監製鄭碧雪、導演洪榮傑、西九文化區管理局 M+ 行政總監李立偉及獨立動畫家余家豪參與；更會於記者會宣布ifva今屆一系列精彩刺激的視聽節目….
