  • Swatch 2014 Spring/Summer "Big Classic" Collection

    Sunday, Apr 20, 2014 12:27AM / Standard Entry

While we've typically understood vibrant color and bold face illustrations as the hallmarks of Swatch's design language, the Swiss brand aims to shift perceptions with the introduction of a new range. The "Big Classic" collection is comprised of seven all-new silhouettes, building a distinctly mature take on classic Swatch aesthetics. All pieces are based on the brand's 41mm stainless steel "Irony" casing, from there giving users their own option of bezels and faces from large numeration to diver-inspired looks. Swatch also made use of premium materials, offering an array of  crocodile-embossed leather and stainless steel straps for the clean designs. Pick up watches from the "Big Classic" collection online or at Swatch's pop-up concept store on the fifth floor of Harrod's London.

  • Rumor: The Nike FuelBand and Wearable Technology Division of Nike is Being Cut

    Saturday, Apr 19, 2014 1:59PM / Standard Entry

In an age where wearable tech has reached a turning point, Nike appears to be taking a slightly different stance by pulling the plug on the hardware team of its Digital Sport division. According to sources at CNET, the sportswear giant recently relieved the majority of a 70-person hardware team of their duties. The team was involved with the Nike+ FuelBand, SportWatch GPS and other sport-specific peripheral devices. Many industry experts speculate that this bold move indicates that Nike intends to focus its future wearable efforts toward software. No official word from Nike as of yet, however in an effort to calm the situation the group has announced that it will continue to sell the second-generation FuelBand SE for the time being. Head over to CNET for the full report.

  • 3sixteen x Viberg "Carolina Service" Boot

New York-based clothing and accessories label 3sixteen has teamed up with Canadian bootmaker Viberg for a timely summer release. Dubbed "Carolina Service" as a nod to the Carolina Brown chromexcel leather sourced from Chicago's famed Horween tannery, the quality upper is guaranteed to age beautifully and darken over time. Similar to previous 3sixteen x Viberg releases (seen here), this iteration reimagines the classic 1950 service boot silhouette with subtle details like a contrasting tongue. The supple upper rests atop a firm and sturdy two-tone non-marking Dainite sole. You can pick up a pair of 3sixteen x Viberg "Carolina Service" Boots on April 21 at 12pm EST over at 3sixteen's website.
