FACETASM 2012 Spring/Summer Monkey Boots

Tokyo-based label FACETASM releases a part of its colorful “TO BE CRUCIALLY FREE” 2012 spring/summer collection via this pair of Monkey Boots in smart black suede. Featuring black leather insoles and contrasting cream rubber composite soles, the shoes fasten on the outer sides with cross braided yellow and red cord laces. Other details include gold metal lace eyelets and three sets of hook clasps. These are currently available at LN-CC for approximately $1,000 USD.

Breitling Navitimer Cosmonaute

It was a Breitling Navitimer chronograph that was on the wrist of Scott Carpenter in 1962 when he orbited the earth three times aboard the Aurora 7 space capsule — only the second such flight to date during the rapidly escalating space race in the 1960s. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Carpenter’s historic flight, Breitling is releasing the Navitimer Cosmonaute — a faithful reproduction of the watch that helped make aeronautical history. At the heart of the 43mm stainless steel case beats Breitling’s 39 jewel, COSC-certified Caliber 02 hand-wound movement, at 28,800 vibrations per hour. In addition to the chronometer itself, the watch contains two other essential pilot instruments: a circular slide rule integrated into the bi-directional rotating bezel, and (faithful to the vintage 1952 versions) a Celsius/Fahrenheit conversion scale etched into the caseback. Production of the Navitimer Cosmonaute will be limited to 1,962 pieces, but don’t let that stop you from keeping your eyes peeled at Breitling stockists when it releases this summer.

Ronnie Fieg x Caminando 2012 Spring/Summer Collection

Following Ronnie Fieg‘s highly successful Winter 2011 collaborative collection with Caminando, the duo once again align for Spring/Summer 2012 to release a custom Nolita model for Fieg and his New York outfitter, Kith. The low-top pairs will come in Leopard, Navy, Black and Slate colorways and each will be mocked up in a unique nubuck upper. The interior is wrapped with a breathable pigskin lining that caters specifically to the demands and needs of the warmer months. A padded collar, heel tab, waxed laces, and a Goodyear welted sole finish things off. Slated to arrive starting at 10:00 a.m. EST on Friday May 25, availability will be made through KithNYC.com and Kith Manhattan for a retail of $200 USD.

TAG Heuer Aquaracer 500M Ceramic Watch “Full Black”

While it could be argued that TAG Heuer’s modern legacy could be attributed mostly to its marketing endeavors, unique pieces like this Aquaracer 500M Ceramic watch hint that the Swiss label is well on its way to returning to the innovations and exceptionally clean stylings of the brand’s true horological roots. On the inside, the flagship Aquaracer dive watch still carries TAG’s Caliber 5 Automatic movement. But it’s on the outside where the watch has undergone a few subtle changes — most notably, the employment of a ceramic bezel and a slightly slimmed-down profile. This year, it’s also being offered in this spectacular Full Black colorway (with a black ceramic bezel and titanium carbide case) that underscores the Aquaracer’s rugged and purpose-built 500 meter depth resistance. Expect the Full Black Aquaracer to cost around $3,000 USD when it lands at TAG Heuer dealers later this summer.
