  • Life as A Mailman

Today they sent me out on my own.I was put on a partial route that takes the regular carriers three hours but it took me about 6 hours but I was encouraged by a couple of my new coworkers who actually drove by to check on me.When driving the postal van I forgot we can park anywhere so I was wasting time finding parking. But when you are driver someone elses vehicle you forget its not yours. It was more humid than yesterday so that was the biggest obstacle. But people are so thoughtful by offering me water and I never turn down a bottle of water.I never thought about giving my mail person water...EVER.Maybe its because I don't see them too much but I will start if I do knowing now on what they go through.

My first scare was it started to sprinkle and I had no rain gear but it was a refreshing sprinkle that was brief.

My second was I had just delivered the mail and the child went to pick it up I heard a growl and turned around it was a German Shepherd. If that kid didn't catch the lease that dog was coming after me.I learned dogs get really defensive around children. But thats what happens the children are in such a rush to get the mail but they don't know where their dog is and thats a danger.I wish their parents would teach them to wait until the carrier leaves the property when they have vicious dogs.

Another unfortunate thing was I got a vicious dog alert. It was a pitbull so the people let it stand at the front glass door.I don't know why let them run around loose the should be chained up.So it sees me and starts barking.I had to skip their neighbors house who had medicine which needed delivering but they lose out because of their neglectful neighbors.God forbid if that person died because they needed that medicine badly.

Right now I am having on the street training my instructor's name is John and he's teaching me alot.He told me yesterday I am getting alot better and will probably be on my own soon.My biggest problem is constantly twisting my ankles on peoples hidden holes on the lawns so every night I bathe in epsom salt but I know I am going to seriously injure either ankle on of these days.

Also the heat is NO JOKE!I try to move as fast as I can so I won't get roasted there are some trees so the is some shade and saviour.Of course drink gallons of water and Gatorade type drinks.I try to keep a light stomach the heaviest thing I eat is licorice or nuts.I still wonder how John can eat a huge hoagie everday for lunch with this heat.If it was me I would be puking it up.

The best part of my day yesterday was when we stopped at another post office for lunch. So I see these two kids I was wondering where their parents were. The girl kept looking at me so I said hi.She asked if I worked there. So it turns out her parents run the Chinese restaurant next door but they have no air conditioning so they hang out at the post office to stay cool.Linda had her brother with her who was deaf.So I asked Linda to teach me sign language so I could communicate with him.So that was very special and uplifting hopefully I will get to their restaurant to see them again.

I be sleazily honest I want one of those mailman with the lonely desperate housewife fantasies.I know they happen but I want to be part of one.Lets see she's Kelly Hu's twin and her husband ia away at work. She's waits for me everyday and comes to the door each time I deliver weaing something revealing. Then sometimes shes wearing Daisy Dukes and heels while gardening or washing the car.One day its really hot and I am sweating hard. She invites me in for some lemonade. We sit on the couch and says I can use the shower but only if she can join me.She has the "I want you" look and you can figure out the rest LOL!

  • I got a a job at the Post Office

I actually start 3 hours from now as a mailman. We had 5 days of new employee orientation then 3 days of Carrier Academy. Its was all paid training and most of the time we were sitting on our asses hey if you want to pay me $19.84 an hour for sitting on my ass....I AM TAKING IT!It did get boring so I became one of the class clowns to keep awake. The only thing I hated about Carrier Academy was we had to be there at 5am so I had to get up about 3:45 but that first hour we get paid 20.99 an hour but everyone was so tired. My classmate Steve would tease me about putting water on my face to keep awake I say "whatever's clever.Turns out we met last year he was a customer at a job I was at last year and he recognized me.But we did learn alot at the academy.

My main concern are the dogs we carry pepper spray but it doesn't work on German Shepherds,Rotweilers,Pitbulls and all the killer dogs?WHAT THE FUCK?They said it would make them angrier?Dogs like that are too unpredictable and you can't be trained on how to handle it.They just tell you to put your bag in front of but watching videos these dogs can leap 5 feet in the air and are trained to attack the neck.We don't have to deliver if the dog is loose and vicious but maybe I will just rubber band the mail and just throw it in the yard.

Its alot to learn but the only way I will pick it up is by actually doing it.Teaching it in a classroom can only go so far ya know?

  • Petition to give Peachey a celebrity star

    Saturday, Jun 7, 2008 10:55PM / Standard Entry / Members only

Some people got it and my friend Peachey does on AnD.Wow 101,000+ visitors she deserves a celebrity star in my opinion.I was comparing her to Kelly Hu who is world famous and has been for years but she only has about 70,000 visitors.I am still trying to figure out her popularity secret...hmmm maybe it's her great personality. But I really thinks she deserves a star so if you agree make a comment."My name is Tyrone Lee and I approve this message"

  • I made a medical discovery on treating asthma!

    Monday, May 12, 2008 11:23PM / Standard Entry / Members only

I have asthma but made a discovery that might help others who suffer from it.I noticed that when I drink purified water each day that it helps bring up and release mucus so I don't have to use my inhaler!I haven't used my inhaler for about two weeks now because of my consumption of purified water. So spread the word(I might get my celebrity star on AliveNot Dead from this)

So now I am doing research on what makes purified water so different from others and how it beats asthma "maybe there's albuterol in it" LOL!I'll post my findings on this blog.
