  • Reporters outside during hurricane Gustav?

You couldn't pay me enough! They are reporting live with their raincoats blowing and all that mess around them? Why do they need reporters out there wouldn't live camera shots do the trick? What's to prove to your audience if someone got killed or injured to report on something that we know how deadly they can be.They must have a big time life insurance policy but I am curious how much they get.Whats next reporting live to see how an actual great white shark"Yeah Melissa Im here live in the Pacific and the crew just splashed chum all over and I just cut my leg open to see what happens next?Oh there they are  and they look so hungry ...I'll be back in 15 for a further update"My motto is "Ain't NO job worth dying over"

The only way I would be out there is if I was in an impreggnable house with lots of food, water etc. and I would do it for $100,000 but Im not going out in it

This actually brought up an experience I had a few weeks ago.I was delivering mail and no one was outside. All the sudden this branch fell two feet away from me could it have killed me..maybe?But if it hit  meI would have been knocked out and who knew who would have saw me laying out there unconcious?

Yeah it's very sad and that's why I respect reporters in danger zones, they deserve it.

I'm not a fan of journalists such as the celeb obsessed ones, but news reporters such as Kate Adie, i have the upmost respect for, they are always willing to put their lives on the line to bring us world news.

We do a lot of things for our jobs. Freak accidents aren't ever part of the deal, of course. News reporters trying to do a report in the middle of a hurricane strikes me as really, really reaching for the coin (kwan). Stupid too. But viewers thrive on these thrills so they do it.
