The Hong Kong Museum of History was established in July 1975 when the City Museum and Art Gallery was split into the Hong Kong Museum of History and Hong Kong Museum of Art. But some of the Museum's collections date back to the City Museum and Art Gallery founded in 1962 at the City Hall. In 1983, the Museum was moved to the temporary accommodation in Kowloon Park. It was moved to its present premises on Chatham Road South, Tsim Sha Tsui in 1998.

The permanent home of the Hong Kong Museum of History, with a gross floor area of 17,500 m², is housed in a new building constructed at a cost of HK$390M and funded by the Hong Kong SAR Government. It is a comprehensive state-of-the-art museum designed by the P&T Architects and Engineers Ltd., based on the architectural concept of Mr E. Verner Johnson. The new Museum and the neighbouring Science Museum together form a museum complex of a harmonious appearance and colour scheme.

Apart from the main museum at Chatham Road South, the Hong Kong Museum of History runs five branch museums, namely the Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence at Shau Kei Wan, the Lei Cheng Uk Han Tomb Museum at Sham Shui Po , Law Uk Folk Museum at Chai Wan, Fireboat Alexander Grantham Exhibition Gallery inside the Quarry Bay Park and Dr. Sun Yat-sen Museum at Mid-levels in Central.

香港歷史博物館的前身是市政局於1962年在大會堂成立的「香港博物美術館」。1975年7月，「香港博物美術館」一分為二，分拆為「香港藝術館」和「香港博物館」。新成立的香港博物館初時租用尖沙咀星光行為館址，1983年遷往九龍公園臨時館址，1998年7月遷至尖沙咀漆咸道南現址。「香港博物館」由1998年4月1 日起，易名為「香港歷史博物館」。

香港歷史博物館新館，總樓面面積17,500平方米，由香港政府撥款港幣三億九千萬興建，是一座綜合性的現代化博物館大樓，建築物乃由本港巴馬丹拿建築及工程師有限公司(Palmer & Turner Architects and Engineers Ltd.)按照威拿.莊信先生(Mr. E. Verner Johnson)的建築概念設計而成；其外型、色調與毗鄰的科學館互相協調，形成一個博物館組合。

除了位於漆咸道南的主館外，香港歷史博物館還有五間分館，分別位於筲箕灣的香港海防博物館、深水的李鄭屋漢墓博物館、位於柴灣的羅屋民俗館、位於香港側魚涌公園內的葛量洪號滅火輪展覽館，以及位於中環半山的孫中山紀念館。

Today, i have joined the exhibition --  Mr.Teruhisa Kitahara's Toy Museum at Cityplaza.

Mr.Teruhisa Kitahara is a toy collector, this exhibition shows his toy collection in 50's - 70's. The total is 700 pieces. Very Great!!

When people born in 50's - 70's. This exhibition can memory for their child's age. So, i discovered more adult also take photo in front of display. I am born in 80's, i think the toy technical in japan is very creative. Some children are inquisitive, they are also take camera to shoot display.

This exhibition is very funny and interesting, but i think the lighting is very harsh to the eye and the display window is more reflect light. Hoping that these can improve in the next time!!

今天終於有時間出席這個北原照久之玩具博物館展覽!!

北原照久是一個玩具古董收集家.這個展覽展出很多他收集的50年代至70年代玩具,有成700多件!!很厲害!!這些玩具運到香港想必花費不少工程!!

對於在50年代至70年代出生的人來說,這些玩具都是他們的珍貴回憶,所以在場都有不少大朋友拍照留念!!我是生於80年代,也都讚歎當時日本的技術和創意.而不少小朋友對這些玩具充滿好奇,在場也見到他們拿著相機走來走去!!

這次活動確實盡興也很成功,只是覺得在場燈光太強和展覽櫃玻璃窗太過反光,令我影到很多'失敗作',希望下次有改善啦!!

The Avenue of Stars (Chinese: 星光大道), modelled on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, is located along the Victoria Harbour waterfront in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong. It honours celebrities of the Hong Kong film industry.

香港星光大道（英語：Avenue of Stars）是位於香港九龍尖沙咀東的海濱長廊，位於尖沙咀海濱花園，沿新世界中心對出的維多利亞港東西連接尖沙咀東及香港藝術館。2003年，新世界發展有限公司斥資4000萬港元贊助於原址興建星光大道，在2004年4月27日開幕，並移交予香港特別行政區政府，供市民休憩及遊客觀光。

星光大道為表揚香港電影界的傑出人士的特色景點，仿傚好萊塢星光大道，傑出電影工作者的芳名與手掌印鑲嵌在特製的紀念牌匾，以年代依次排列在星光大道上，目前星光大道可容納100名電影工作者的紀念牌匾。

Since its opening in April 1991, the Hong Kong Science Museum has proven itself to be an ideal and unique place for learning science. Through presenting quality exhibitions and fun science programmes in an enjoyable environment, the Museum serves to popularize science to the public and support science education in schools. In contrast to traditional museums, visitors at the Science Museum are encouraged to explore exhibits in their own way and thus experience the fun of discovery learning.

Occupying a permanent exhibition area of 6,500 square metres, the Museum houses over 500 exhibits. Nearly 70 percent of them are interactive and suitable for visitors of all ages. Among them, the most prominent exhibit is the largest device of its kind in the world: the Energy Machine. Another attraction is the DC-3 airplane which is the first local airliner and the first exhibit moved into the Museum building.

The Museum also has a 745 sq.m. Special Exhibition Hall, a 295-seat Lecture Hall, a Classroom, a Computer Classroom, a Laboratory and a Resource Centre. Other ancillary facilities include a Gift Shop, a Book Shop and a Cafeteria.

Apart from permanent exhibitions, the Museum regularly presents temporary exhibitions on a wide variety of topics related to science and modern technology. The Museum also organizes and develops a multitude of extension activities and educational programmes for the public.

香港科學館自1991年4月啟用至今，已成為大眾探求科學知識的理想地方。它透過舉辦高質素展覽與趣味科學節目，推動科學普及化，並協助學校推展科技教育。它有別於傳統的博物館，鼓勵參觀者透過操作展品來發現當中的科學原理，讓他們從中體驗探索和學習科學的樂趣。

科學館常設展覽廳的總面積為6,500平方米。館藏展品逾五百件，當中百分之七十是互動展品，老幼咸宜。其中最為矚目的展品是「能量穿梭機」，它是目前世界上同類展品中最大的。而DC-3客機可算是科學館的另一珍藏。它是香港首架客機，也是館內第一件安裝的展品。

科學館另設有一745平方米的特備展覽廳、295座位的演講廳、課室、電腦室、實驗室及資源中心，其他相關設施包括禮品店、書店及餐廳。

The Jounary of Kowloon Park 九龍公園之旅

The Kowloon Park is a large public park in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon Peninsula, Hong Kong.

The park was formerly a site of Whitfield Camp barracks for British force with a battery (Kowloon West Battery II) on its west side.

In 1970, Urban Council redeveloped the site into the Kowloon Park.

Part of the site was occupied in the construction of the MTR from 1975 - 1978.

Facilities:

Tree walk

There is a tree walk located next to the Rose Garden.

Stone Wall Trees

There are some Stone wall trees growing on the walls adjacent to aviary pond in Kowloon Park.

Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre

Blocks S61 and S62 of former Whitfield Camp are "Grade III historical buildings" which were constructed in circa 1910. They are a pair of identical two storied colonial military barrack blocks. The roofs are pitched with Chinese tiles with tar finish. They housed the former Hong Kong Museum of History from 1983 to 1998 before the completion of the present Hong Kong Museum of History at Chatham Road South. An extension block linking the two historical barracks was constructed in the 1980s to provide more space for the museum facilities. It now houses the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre.

Sporting facilities

The park houses an indoor sport center and a 50 metre swimming pool which are often used for some international sport events.

九龍城寨清拆後，港英政府將原址改建為公園。原來計劃名為「九龍城寨公園」，但清拆期間經老居民指引，發現了一些古代文物，包括：兩塊城寨南門（即舊日城寨的正門）原址出土的花崗岩石額，刻有「南門」及「九龍寨城」字樣；城寨城牆殘存的牆基、東南兩門的牆基、一條沿城寨內牆建築的排水溝及旁邊的石板街。第二次世界大戰期間，民眾為免石額被日軍破壞，將之拆下埋於城寨內泥土中。政府遂將公園改名為九龍寨城公園，這些文物都安放於「南門懷古」景區。昔日三進四廂的衙門「大鵬協府」，則在修復和重建後成為展館，陳列了與寨城歷史有關的石碑（包括張玉堂拳書「墨緣」、「壽」字及載有衙門士兵出差配餉開支紀錄的光緒十二年《刊刻會議》）、寨城的歷史圖片等。（註：九龍城寨是分別於87和89年一月分2期遷拆，並在90和92年3月完成。）

「慈雲閣」創建於六十年代，是德教的山門，因此閣內供奉的多是道家神祇。

閣內曾飼養一靈牛，相傳1983年，牠在長沙灣屠房正要被屠宰之時，竟下跪並且流淚，彷彿在求饒，其後就送到「慈雲閣」內飼養，死時廿八歲。傳說牠死後多次報夢給善信，更被傳為牛郎織女的神牛。

「慈雲閣」擺放了大家都耳熟能詳的中國神靈塑像，如玉皇大帝、八仙等等。閣內還有封神演義、廿四孝及觀音故事等壁畫，透過簡單精緻的浮雕圖像，一眾故事人物都變得栩栩如生。最精彩且最能警剔世人的是「地藏府」，內有正在十八層地獄受刑的塑像，提醒我們要注意行事為人。

慈雲山山上有一座觀音古廟。因民間稱觀音菩薩為「大慈大悲觀世音」菩薩，稱觀音的慈雲普救眾生，慈雲山因而得名。慈雲山早於1871年已經定名^[1]。

慈雲山曾經是問題少年的聚集地，因為該區有很多公共屋邨。1980年代很著名的青少年朋黨「慈雲山十三太保」就是在這樣的一個舊區成長的。

隨着當地人口成長、大老山隧道通車和舊區重建，現時已不再有青少年問題之餘，還顯得煥然一新。
