2008 Olympic Torch Relay Performance

13 pictures / 1125 views / 8 commentsHere are some photos from Wushu West doing the closing ceremony of the North American leg of the Olympic Torch Relay. Unfortunately the route of the torch was changed for security because of all the protesters. I am very proud of all my students who performed- I know a lot of them were nervous about security, but they all love China and are proud of its succeses. Maybe I will write a blog about the event soon... You can see the demo on youtube.com ("planetarydancer" (Jeff, one of my wushu students) posted the video in two parts. I also added a few photos form the Chinese Embassy's Appreciation Reception the following week. I got to hold the actual Olympic Torch! A big thanks to the Chinese Embassy for having us perform!
