I'm so damn tired. 10-12-14 hours every day working for the Kansas Democrats and my local Obama grassroots group. Barack Obama, you better win, damnit.

Watched some of the Republican National Convention tonight, and ... I continue to be utterly astounded at just how stupid the party thinks Americans are. Granted, we've certainly done our fair share of displaying stupidity, notably in the 2004 election. But really.
Last night Fred Thompson made such non-statements about Sarah Palin's qualifications to lead as "she is governor of the largest state in the country." Yeah, but no one fucking lives there. The argument is about as effective as claiming she's qualified because she's governor of a state whose name starts with the letter "A" WUT.
Tonight Rudy Guiliani. I can't even say anything particularly coherent because DAMN is the brotha mad at... the universe, I guess. That is one angry, hateful asshole. His five minutes of fame from 9/11 are over, so he needs to sit down and shut up, LOL. I can't imagine his virulent speech firing up anyone but the most hateful of fundies.
And of course there's Sarah Palin. That is one smug bitch. She's a good speaker, she really is. But her speech was nothing but a string of juvenile, inaccurate digs at Barack Obama, and "witty" comments about putting a plane up on ebay. The whole issue with McCain picking her is just insulting and pandering, and I'm so sickened that the whole damn party thinks so poorly of women.
The chants of "USA" by the crowd were incredibly unsettling. This horrible attitude that if you're not a Republican, you're not patriotic and you're not a good American has to stop. The divisiveness they continue to foster has to stop. How is this helping anyone? I guess it makes people feel good to feel that they're better than other people, but how does this help our country move forward? At all? They're all about shoving their ideology down other people's throats, and that's the only thing they're about. What the fuck kind of leadership is that?
I honestly think people are -- finally -- starting to see through it, but to tell the truth I'm dead fucking scared. If McCain wins, things will only get worse. Not just because he won't fix anything that's already wrong, but because he and his terrifyingly nasty party will spend their time and energies actively making things worse for people they perceive as enemies, whether that's another country's government, a political opponent, or Americans who simply holds different ideological beliefs. What the fuck kind of way is that to run a country. -_-

I threw a party to watch Barack Obama accept the Democratic Party's nomination for president. I just got home, and almost 200 people came. This is in one of the reddest states in the country.
I
FEEL
AMAZING.

*is still alive*
Mostly, anyway. Got back on my fitness regimen, gonna look perfect by the time my birthday rolls around in November. My clothes are already falling off me.
Been hanging around with a new friend. <3 It's interesting talking to her, because we come from very different backgrounds. I'm American and she's South Korean, born and raised. Now that I think about it, it's been awhile since I've been good real-life (not online) friends with anyone who wasn't raised mostly in America, though many of my friends are the children of immigrants from all over the place. So we have some very different, built-in ideas about some things, like homosexuality and gender roles, but we can find common ground and still enjoy each other's company. She's also the first Korean I've known well, and we have fun watching hilarious variety shows like Happy Together and X-man. God bless the internet and people that make English subtitles. And Yoo Jae-suk.
The chair of the Arkansas Democratic Party was just murdered in his office today. WHAT THE FUCK, PEOPLE. This ain't how we air our political grievances in the US of A. The crazy right-wingers are getting worse and worse. Comparing Barack Obama to Britney Spears and Paris Hilton? Writing "nigger" on pro-Obama yard signs? UGH! And the unbelievable lying and emotional manipulation the asshat Republicans keep doing to totally mislead the American people. Why can't more people see it? It makes me so angry! And for the love of pete, can we please chuck Bush out of office, like, NOW? He's (again) trying to get rid of the Endangered Species Act, because I guess he has a hate-on for sea otters or something, I don't even know. I could freaking rant all day long.
Waiting patiently for the DVD for the Korean version of Tohoshinki's 3rd Live Tour 2008 - T to become available for sale. Can't afford the Japanese version. x_x Their newest song, Doushite Kimi wo Suki ni Natte Shimattan Darou?, is the most gorgeous thing ever.
And VAN NESS WU, if you're reading this (LOL), Kim Jaejoong of Tohoshinki has removed his belly button ring and you're now the very last hot guy wearing one, so you may not under any circumstances remove yours. THANK YOU.
