  • I GOT MY CAT BACK!

This is my cat Zeb asleep with his sister Ruby (he's at the back with his feet on his sister) just after we got them from the RSPCA shelter, three weeks later he went missing, I put up posters, put flyers through people's doors, put his photo on all the internet missing sites, it would be five weeks tomorrow that he went and I had been losing hope, imagining all sorts of awful things that could have happened to him. This morning I read something in the paper about someone looking for their cat, doing all the things I'd been doing, they found their cat at the end of the article but I was thinking I was never going to see Zeb again and then the phone rang and he'd been found about a fifteen or twenty minute walk away from where we live (and over a very busy main road) hanging around a bus stop, he'd followed this lady home and she thought he was a bit thin looking so she took him in and fed him and her neighbour recognised him from one of my posters and called us and we went and got him, I couldn't believe it was really going to be him, but it is and he's asleep on my bed as if he's never been away, his sister is rather anoyed with him though for abandoning her and has been hissing at him. We're off to buy thank you goodies for the people that found him now.

Eva's very thrilled, Zeb was her favourite because he always follows her around playing with her and sleeping on her bed at night. Ruby and Zeb ARE like bookends, they're always together looking for mischief to get into, I felt very sorry for Ruby when Zeb dissapeared, she hasn't forgiven him yet though.
Jesse - cat's are wild at heart, that's why I always let them come and go as they please, so the risk of losing them is always there, Zeb was definately not meant to be a wild cat though, he likes being home with his family too much, he slept on my feet last night and he's hardly left my side since he got back. It's good that you found your cat too, even if he didn't come home, not knowing what's happened to them is awful.

What a coinkydink to read the article then get the call! It's a weird old world sometimes..glad to hear it worked out & he's home. Zeb & Ruby are like bookends, they belong together with their pretty coloring. Eva must be thrilled.

He is fixed, he wouldn't have wandered on purpose, he's too much of a home cat, he's asleep on Eva's bed at the moment, something must have scared him and he ran off and got lost.  He's not the brightest of cats so I'm really impressed that he has survived for five weeks by himself. I'm just so happy to have him back, I haven't stopped smiling since we got him back and I keep going to check on him to make sure he's real.

Lucky you!  Is he fixed?  That makes them wander more.  That's a minor miracle after all that time.  Yeah, I've had mine come back, one time after 3 weeks, and act all "What are you getting so excited about??? You're scaring me!  Where's my dish?  Chomp chomp."  You're happy to see'em but you wanna just knock them out.

Wow...that's incredible!  I don't think I'd let him outta the house for at least 5 weeks just to make sure he knows where he lives!

Our male cat use to wander off for weeks at a time and then come home.  He was just more of a hunter than a nuzzler.  Then, the psycho-neighbor down the road shot him (back in 1993).

Anyway, I digress....I'm glad your cat tale (tail!) has a happy ending.  =)

That's what I was thinking, people can be so kind. And it's amazing to have him back after five weeks, I really thought he was gone for good.
