  • Fashion Styles The Valley - 24 Herbs style~!!!

    Thursday, Dec 1, 2011 11:15PM / Standard Entry

Went to the Happy Wednesday, Fashion Styles the Valley event last night at the Hong Kong Jockey Club and it was so much fun! My bros 24 Herbs performed to a packed crowd and I really enjoyed hanging out with friends in an outdoor environment.
In Hong Kong, everything is usually indoors, so I love the change.
Here I am learning how to pick a winning horse from fellow actor Hiro Hayama , Darren Scott (captured at the back) & the night's MC extraordinaire Desmond So
After the excitement of  having the thundering horses rushing past, I quickly put a few dollars onto a horse called 'Groovy'. It didn't have the best odds and wasn't a favorite, but I had a good feeling and really liked it's name.
    And I WON~!!!
'Groovy' came first place & I was happy to have collected lucky money that night.
Ok.....I made a total of $4.50 minus how much I had put in to bet...but it's still a win!
Wow, that HKJC ipad game was accurate! I do bet conservatively...
All in all, a great night & I look forward to more gatherings at the HKJC for Happy Wednesdays and the outdoor entertainment there. See ya next time!

  • Quick Update Oct 2011

    Tuesday, Oct 4, 2011 7:19PM / Standard Entry

I'm on the set of my next Hong Kong movie and wanted to say Hi! Can't believe this year has flown by so quickly but there is still almost 3 months to maximise & squeeze in whatever it is that you want to get into 2011. For me, it's to finish this movie & a few more projects before I get a little rest with two destination weddings on tropical islands! Yay! I always believe in the " Work hard & play hard! " motto!

Looking forward, 2012 is already shaping up to be pretty exciting! I already have 2 movies in the pipeline to be released, a tv show and also some other stuff I can't mention right now but it'll be a great year!!! Stoked!

Now I need to concentrate & run off to shoot a scene but looking forward to the annual not-to-be missed Dead Not Alive Halloween Party at Zuma!!! See you all there!!! Hmmm...what will I show up as this year...??? Any suggestions?

    Love,
    Grace xoxo

  • Still think I'm dreaming! Best Actress Award at LA Film Festival...ME?!?
     |  )

    Sunday, Sep 4, 2011 2:49PM / Standard Entry

Many great things has happened this year and August was another month of milestones. Our Bloodtraffick short film was completed and Director Jennifer & I took off to L.A. as the it first got into GenCon Indy film festival (Jen attended) and then the LA HollyShorts Short Film Festival where we both went to attend this trip.

We went to support our own film and not only did we end up falling in love with L.A. itself, made a tonne of awesome new friends, new fans & gained immense support from people in the film industry there...but I also took home the BEST ACTRESS Award for the film festival!!!!

Winning this award is a huge encouragement to me as an actor, and I am so happy to be 'representing', being an Asian actor winning at a NON-Asian film event.

I share this award with everyone that has worked on the Bloodtraffick project.  I've always been very proud of this project (as evident in my previous blogs), so it is a great feeling to get affirmation from the film capital of the world, Hollywood!

Jen & I had a great trip and these photos show just a fraction of the fun we had~!!!

We met up with our favourite acting coach extraordinare, Jeanne Hartman & fellow AnD'er Osric Chau.

Then we hit the opening night red carpet with our Bloodtraffick composers, Gerrit Wunder & Dorothee Badent. Don't we scrub up nice?

There were over 100 short films and music videos shown at HollyShorts Film Festival this year selected from around the world, and the red carpet was full of press coverage.
It was cool & so FUN~!!!
My favourite E! News movie correspondent Ben Lyons liked the Bloodtraffick duo.
HollyShorts film festival co-founder Daniel Sol & the forever sweet & supportive Eli Roth (Writer/Producer of 'Man with the Iron Fists', Director of 'Hostel 1 & 2', and of course the hunky 'Bear Jew' from Inglorious Basterds whom everyone remembers).

The whirlwind week was filled with meet ups with friends, hanging out at awesome places like the Sky Bar & Soho House, eating great foods & many silly moments!!!
Then it was our Bloodtraffick screening night!!! Thanks to all our dear friends who came to support us & evevryone loved it!  Ok...friends have to love it, but we had strangers come up afterwards with praise...Yay!
Got to give a special shout out to Archie, who made it out to support us with heavy jetlag & our super friend Chris Bates and Tim Tau.
One of our Austrian DP's Xax & our editor Bettina flew to LA to support.
    Our crew is TIGHT!
Ok, it wasn't ALL fun & games...we attended the useful panel talks & even got to hear the director of the original Halloween II (1981) - Rick Rosenthal speak, along with his cast.
We did alot of driving, but I loved having QT time with Jen. We TOTALLY perfected our 'Valley Girl' accents and characters~!!! (Inside joke..)

I love hot dancers! These hotties are from tv show  So You Think You Can Dance..!

We're a team of many talents. Dorothee is an amazing cook & kept our energies up with her magic dishes.THUMBS UP~!!! Watch out...we're SO moving in~!!!

I even caught up with the awesome Team Iron Fists!!!
    Jamie, RZA, Eli, Byron & CungLe...what can I say...U guys rock~!!!!

All in all, we had a BLAST. Our heartfelt thanks to not only our friends who supported us in person in L.A., but also the support back home in Hong Kong & around the world.

Awards night...when I got my new gold friend~!!!

Now we will go forth, work hard & make the Bloodtraffick feature a REALITY~!!!

    LA...we'll be back again...REAL SOON~!!!
