William Lau is an award winning CGI animation and live action director with a wide range of experience: from directing dramatic character driven animated properties; to action packed science fiction shows; to independent live action features and shorts. He has been involved in the CG animation industry since the history making all CG animated television series Reboot that first aired in 1994. His directing credits include helming the incredibly successful animated musical Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper for Mattel Entertainment which won "Children's Title of the Year" at the VSDA Awards 2005. As well, the Princess and the Pauper received 6 nominations at the 2005 DVD Exclusive Awards, including "Best Director". William's work on the best selling Fairytopia DTV series received nominations for Best Director for British Columbia's Leo Awards in 2007; as well as the Elan Awards in 2006 and 2007. William has also pushed the envelope in the CG action genre with his directing work for the popular Max Steel movies, the Hot Wheels DTV's, Sony Pictures' Heavy Gear television series, the award winning Action Man, and Transformers: Beast Machines television series. William is continuing his pursuits in working with motion capture technology combined with creative key framing techniques with hopes to develop a new style of visual storytelling that unifies the best of both live action and animated worlds.
