Today is opening night for my shows Can't Help It, My Feet Love to Dance and If Again, and I'm as nervous as a child on Christmas Eve. The shows are ready, the tech is beautiful, the dances are magnificent so what's wrong with me? Nothing! The fact is opening nights should be an exciting moment that you should never forget. When we take everything for granted we lose the artists edge, that uniqueness which makes us different from the publicans. That joy of performance! Cheers to another opening another show. Hope to see you there.

This is my first entry into the blog world and I must admit I am a complete internet illiterate. Here goes. I've been in Hong Kong for about 3 years now and am having a tougher time than anticipated breaking into the business here as my Cantonese is far from fluent and for the first time have felt reverse discrimination because of my looks. But thats another story. The positive thing is that I have made some inroads into the directing scene. This Friday is the opening night for a double bill entitled, Can't Help it, My Feet Love to Dance and If Again. Can't Help it, My Feet Love to Dance is a musical review with song and some of Hong Kong's finest dance talent from the Hong Kong Musical Theatre Federation. It will feature fellow AliveNotDead guest star Ryan Hui in his musical theatre debut. If Again is a dance drama adapted from the epic poem The Wild Party. So it should be an entertaining evening with something for everyone.
Here's the skinny:
What: Can't Help It, My Feet Love to Dance and If Again
Where: Sai Wan Ho Civic Centre
