    WHO IS ORHAN OSMAN ?

    Orhan Osman was born in Germany, in 1976. His musical life has started in Greece where his family turned back after 13 years. The musician who is originally came from Komotini has started the scene life in Athens. He accompanied famous musicians of Greece with his bouzouki for a while. After having been in USA and Bulgaria for musical projects,he came to Istanbul in 1996.
    When he was on abroad for the concerts, he joined an activity named “ Klezmer & Greco Turkish Music/Crossroad Istanbul –New York” as an instructor in Germany, 2000. It was the activity in which Orhan Osman made his most important decision, which was the turning point in his career.He decided to execute his first scene project after turned back from Germany .He diversified his scene projects which he began with “ Balkan Ekspress’’ until today.
    The musician has been involved many domestic and international projects and continuosly put over with his music, orchestra concept, shows and dynamism.
    Orhan Osman has 4 albums in Turkey. His first album “Devr-i Alem” came out in 2002.His other albums “Gökkusagi” , “Maziden” and “Kolik” followed this album respectively .


    WHAT IS TURKOPHONY ?

    It's the album project which will be broadcasted by Orhan Osman. The album has folk-jazz sound, all of the lyrics are written by Orhan Osman himself. The recordings of album are continueing in the U.S and Turkey.
    Untill here, Horacio Hernandez’s record is completed, with Dave Weckl in drums and Tom Kennedy and his friends. The sound engineering belongs to Dave Weckl and Dennis Mody in album. Orhan Osman says ‘’When the musicians from different countries get together, common language they speak is jazz..I don't actually do ‘’ jazz music’’, I'm not into jazz standarts. I'm just searching for meaning of that common language –the jazz- and analysing it. My goal is creating my own jazz.’’ He is heading for indicating ‘’ Turkish Jazz’’.
    He is on his way with this idea, he purposes that many musicians from many different countries will get together by this project which he works on it since 2 years, The Turkophony.
