Our Visit To The KDPHI & LAMBDA National Conventions 2007!
If there ever was a definition of the word "huge", KDPhi and Lambda national conventions...You All Are IT!!! Thanks for welcoming us with such open arms. We had an amazing time. Getting to take part in your tradition of brotherhood and sisterhood was truly a once in a lifetime experience and something we will never forget. We're looking forward to seeing all of you again in the Fall.
To our KDPhi Sisters...You ladies are AWESOME!!! Sung and I (Roger) were totally blown away by your energy and love. Thank you Tammy, Song, and the rest of the KDPhi Sorority for allowing us to be a part of your convention. We heard "boys" are not usually allowed admission, so thank you all very much for making the exception for Sung and myself. You are all trailblazers and we're very happy to be on the same team. KDPhi Rocks!
To Beung, Jason Louie, Craig Ishigo, and all our brothers of Lambda Phi Epsilon...Thank You for welcoming us into your fold. It was inspiring for us to meet so many Asian American brothers who share such a similar vision of the future. You guys kick ass and we look forward to working together with you all to continue that ass kicking on even a higher level. Thanks again and we'll see you all again very soon!

THANK YOU Disorient Film Festival, UO APASU, & OSU APASU for such an unforgettable trip!
OREGON!!! OSU, UO, & Disorient Film Festival
We just got back from Oregon late last night. We're tired but very much inspired and energized by all the wonderful people we got to spend time with. Thank you Jason & Widya Mak, Alicia, Nadia, David, JC, Rose and the rest of the Disorient staff for inviting us up to the DISORIENT ASIAN AMERICAN FILM FESTIVAL and allowing us to share FINISHING THE GAME with everyone in your community. We had such a great time. We'll never forget premiering our film at the funeral home (aka Bijou Theater), having our film blessed by your amazing Lion Dancers, late night eats at Burrito Boy, and deep fried, Oregon chicken at Louie's Village. You run a top notch festival. We look forward being a continued part of the growing success of Disorient.
We'd also like to give a shout out to UO APASU. You guys are amazing. Big thanks to Lily Pon, San, Goo, Laura, Chris, Shawna, Sothreaksa, Kyra, Marc, Wannita and the rest of the UO APASU for hosting us on Wednesday at McKenzie Hall. Thanks so much for making us feel so welcome in Eugene. We had a great time at dinner with you all at Sakura (that's some damn good sushi) and standing in front of Jamesons all Thursday night (Goo, Tri, Stefan, & Lily...we should have just gone to 7 Eleven and grabbed a few 40's). Thanks for coming out in full force and representing the true flava of AA's in Eugene.
And to all them Beavers up in Corvallis. Do you know we got a speeding ticket coming up to OSU? $145! Obviously we were not Fast nor Furious enough. Oh Well. Yo Aaron Truong...You are a GOD (don't be jealous Jane)! You hooked it up big time. You represent first class, man. It was really a pleasure to go up to Corvallis and to be so warmly received. Thank you Susan, Nam, Jane (you lucky you got Aaron), Diana, Eric, Rose (don't be jumpin on our backs, woman), Ammara, Mike, Sopon, Peter, and the rest of the beaver APASU for not only being responsible for all the AA's at OSU ditching class on Thursday, but also for making the trek down to Eugene for FTG. You guys kick ass. We have a new found respect for Beavers.
And to our fearless guide and crazy-ass driver, Rose Pergament. You're like..."The best guide EVER!" Thanks for making sure we didn't get lost or mugged in Oregon. Eugene should erect a statue of you. Thanks for shooting Fast And The Furious 4. Can't wait to see it on YouTube. : )
Thanks again Disorient, UO APASU, and OSU APASU. We look forward to hopefully seeing you all again later in the fall when FINISHING THE GAME comes a rollin out in theaters!

Los Angeles VC Film Festival Wrap Up : ) (Taken from FTG's MySpace)
2007-05-27 5:04PM / 標準BLOG
Well, our Journey continues. We started out at Sundance in January, then San Francisco, then Chicago, then Oregon...and NOW...LOS ANGELES! For most of us, LA is our home. It was a great time for all the cast, crew, and family to get together, catch up, and celebrate with a little FINISHING THE GAME. We were the Opening Night film of the Visual Communications Film Festival and IT WAS CRAZY. Our screening was so oversold that the DGA had to open up another theatre to accommodate. Almost 1,000 people attended (it looked like the grand opening of a Wal Mart in Shanghai).
It's been 6 years since we first premiered the trailer of BLT at the VC Film Fest. So coming back in 2007 is very much like a home-coming. Tickets were so scarce that most of the FTG people forfeited their tickets to other viewers in the rush line. So while the movie ran, a horde of us went across the street to the Baja Fresh to indulge in some healthy Mexican food. Kind of a bad move because most of us had lots of Heineken right before (heck, they sponsored the event and handed the stuff out like water). End result... Mexican + beer = one very smell Q&A.
Some cool highlights of the evening... 1) I shook Ron Jeremy's hand (yes, the adult film star...who is an actor in FTG). I have yet to wash it. 2) Got to see Brian Tee's pimped out Chrysler 300C for my first time. Trust me, when you have a suede roof in your car and 21 inch chrome rims, it's worth talking a look. Being in FF3 has it's bonuses. 3) Sung just showed up in jeans and a white T shirt. But for some reason, it works as black tie formal. How does he do it? 4) I discovered that the Angry Asian Man is married. Fool us no more, you will not Phil! 5) Dustin Nguyen's Angela got to see FTG for the first time. Now Dustin has to permanently perm his hair to look like Farrah Fawcet. 6) Sharon Dang created a Dustin Nguyen FTG T Shirt. Yo Sharon...why no Sung or McCaleb or Roger? No love, baby, no love. 7) I discovered that if you close your eyes while watching FTG, you can't tell the ethnicity of people who are laughing. Which proves the theory that laughter is a universal language.
There were many other things that happened opening night. But if I were to describe most of them, the moderator of MySpace would delete this profile very quickly. So, we'll just sneak around that technicality and post the crazy via pictures/video...we just posted a cool video of our VC Opening Night (courtesy of Asian Pacific Arts). Check it out!
Next stops...
1) Kappa Delta Phi Sorority National Convention - May 26, 2007 - Santa Clara, CA
2) Lambda Phi Epsilon Fraternity National Convention - May 27, 2007 - Fremont, CA
3) New York City - Asian CineVision Film Festival - July 19, 2007

5) Many more to come! The Journey continues...

- OUR STORY - by Breeze Loo...OUR STORY - by Breeze Loo
Hello and welcome ...
... Thank you for taking the time to visit and getting to know us. Hopefully you'll consider joining our group and becoming a part of the BETTER LUCK TOMORROW & FINISHING THE GAME Family.
We are excited to announce that FINISHING THE GAME will be coming out in theaters this OCTOBER 2007. After our world premier at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival, we have chosen our distribution partner. Our "official" announcement is only a few days away, but I figure I'd leak it hear first. OK, it's IFC FILMS! : )
It's been 5 years since BETTER LUCK TOMORROW. FINISHING THE GAME marks the return of director, Justin Lin, to his independent cinema roots as well as the reunion of many of the original BLT cast and crew. And this time, we're back with a 70's comedy!
A lot has happened since MTV/Paramount made their historic purchase of BLT at the 2002 Sundance Film Festival. But before we talk about our future, I think it's important that we briefly reflect upon our past. BETTER LUCK TOMORROW made a significant mark in American cinema by Asian Americans. But it was not easy. Though we had a big Hollywood studio backing the film, the real success of BLT came from all of us, the Asian American community. In many ways, BLT was the first time Hollywood was able to see that Asian Americans (and African, Latino, & Caucasian Americans) wanted to see and support a film made by Asian Americans and starring Asian American actors. Hollywood was scratching their heads wondering how the heck it was possible that BLT had the highest per screen average of any film in the country their opening weekend (+$30,000) with virtually no marketing budget. But more importantly, where did all these Asian Americans come from? Truth be told, it was by all of us working together (via the internet, email campaigns, word of mouth, group buyouts of screenings, etc.) that we were all able to collectively take part in making our mark in American history. So thank you all for being a part of the BETTER LUCK TOMORROW family.
Our journey continues into 2007 and we're aiming to take it to a WHOLE NEW LEVEL! This time it's about carving out our own piece of the American Pie. Asian Americans and Asian American cinema is here to stay! There are so many world-class Asian American films that are not being seen in theaters. Not because they are not good, but because Hollywood doesn't think there's an audience for it. Our goal with FINISHING THE GAME is to prove that there's not only a devoted audience for Asian American film, but also shatter the existing paradigm and redefine our cinema as "mainstream". We know it's a tall order, but we hope FTG can be one of several vehicles to make that our reality.
We have been and will continue to be traveling across the country GrassRoots style with FINISHING THE GAME, reuniting with old friends from the BLT days and also meeting a lot of amazing new folks along the way. We would love to connect with you, your friends, and your community. Please feel free to contact us if you wish to have us come visit your group or organization and for any speaking engagements. We'll try our best to accommodate.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. We hope you'll consider being a part of the BLT/FTG family and join us on our journey.
sincerely,
