    Monday, Feb 9, 2009 5:27AM / Video / Music

On the occasion of the Chinese New Year of the Ox, Hong Kong pianist Colleen Lee Ka-ling performed a one-hour concert before the reception organised by the Hong Kong Enconomic and Trade Office, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the France-Hong Kong Association and Cathay Pacific.

In the following video (around 18 minutes), you’ll find several excerpts of Collen Lee concert plus an interview that I did with her that night. Enjoy...

  • THE PANCAKES CATCHING SONG

    Wednesday, Dec 31, 2008 5:46PM / News / Music

I’m happily surprised to see that my favorite Hong Kong singer, The Pancakes (a.k.a. Dejay Choi) is now on Alive Not Dead, so today I’m listening several of her songs (including of course the McDull OST). There’s one that I love especially, that you can hear on the digital art website Catching here: http://www.catching.hk/ .

I suppose it’s called “The Catching Song”.

And you can even find the lyrics right here:

http://www.catching.hk/lyric.html. This is great music. Enjoy.

  • I SUFFER THEREFORE I AM

    Tuesday, Nov 18, 2008 1:01AM / Video / Music

Here is a live music video that I've done, of electro spoken-word French band d.e.v.i.a.n.c.e., performing  "Doloroso Ergo Sum" (I Suffer Therefore I am), a song composed and written by So. Noël, about the pain caused by multiple sclerosis. Enjoy...

    Confutatis, maledictis, flamis acribus addictis

Dull but ever present, the pain
    Cruel, latent, crippling
It determines every moment, every motion
    With difficulty
    And it hurts

    Doloroso Ergo Sum

    Confutatis, maledictis, flamis acribus addictis

    Distorted, my sore backbone
My soul weeps over my weakened body
A shiver cracks my young marrow
    Such an inauspicious fracture...
    And it hurts

    Doloroso Ergo Sum

Nervous system – bundle of nerves
Please cut and saw if necessary
Switch off this fatal and never ending current
Isolate my spinal column from this receptacle

I feel heavy, my members are numb
My ego is dying, my clay is wilting
    As a sad larva
    I stumble on
    And it hurts.

  • KATE, CONROY AND TERENCE : THE STRANGE VOICES OF LAN KWAI FONG

    Wednesday, Oct 22, 2008 8:01AM / Video / Music

Last March in Hong Kong, I was one night in Lan Kwai Fong area with some friends, and we met there AnD artists Terence Yin, Conroy Chan and Kate Yeung.

This video was shot with a handycam next to a very cool place named the “Yamla” if I remember. I really don’t know what they were talking about, but I noticed at least some reference / tribute to 24 Herbs. Check it out..
