The new year movie season in China raised its curtain in December. One of the big hits is director Feng Xiaogang's "If You Are the One". The movie premiered on Tuesday in Hangzhou in east China, and goes into theatres across China on Thursday.

If You Are the One is a humorous journey where the lead characters begin their romance on a luxury cruise. One of the highlights is the matchmaking. And many of the cast and crew have once had such an experience.

Feng Xiaogang said, "Maybe once. It was many years ago. I went to see the one the matchmaker wanted me to see. But she didn't take a fancy to me. I thought she was OK though she didn't believe I was responsible."

Ge You said, "I also had such an experience when I was young. I was not what I am. If it happened now, I would write down something about myself for her. But at that time, the matchmaker arranged us to meet at a park. And I met my wife this way. It's not bad."

Director Feng Xiaogang and actor Ge You are famous for their new year comedies, beginning with their first hit back in 1997. Ge You taking is always paired with a beautiful actress - this time Hsu Chi from Taiwan. But many doubt they are the right match.

Hsu Chi said, "Of course I think we are matched. Women are blind when they fall in love. Your eyes are covered. You don't know the man is Mr.Right or not. When your heart is broken and your love is almost dead, you suddenly find a better man is right behind you. He makes you laugh. He understands you. And in the movie, Ge You is such a man. Though he never gives you flowers, every word he says is to remind you. You will pay attention gradually and finally be attracted by him. "

The film has also premiered in Beijing. To accompany the romantic flavor of the film, the red carpet has turned blue with rose petals. Many big names turned up to show their support. The list includes actor Zhang Hanyu, director Zhang Yang, Zhang Yibai and Feng Yuanzheng.

If You Are The One keeps the typical humor of Feng Xiaogang. Feng said the comedy may be not suitable for competition in film awards but will give the audiences a relaxing and happy new year.

Paleontologists have uncovered a treasure trove of dinosaur tracks in South America. One set of footprints is believed to be the oldest tracks of one species ever found in the southern hemisphere.

The scientists were led to the site by a local farmer. The farmer had always been curious about the irregular indentations in the rocky hills near his home. Only recently did it occur to him what they might be.

The scientific team says dozens of rare dinosaurs made the prints. One of the reptiles appears to be an Ankylosaurus. Ankylosaurus was an armored herbivore covered with strong knobs and plates for protection. Such ancient evidence of the species has never been found in the southern hemisphere.

The tracks also show another herbivorous reptile. And there was at least one carnivore. Close to the large prints, paleontologists discovered smaller impressions that are believed to have been young dinosaurs.

At the time these dinosaurs were alive, Africa and South America are believed to have been joined as a single land mass. The Icla valley was part of a giant desert, stretching from present day South America across to what is now Africa.

She was euthanized Monday after suffering multiple strokes and organ failure, officials at Winnipeg, Manitoba's Assiniboine Park Zoo said Tuesday.

Her keepers and admirers laid flowers by her empty enclosure Tuesday as they tearfully remembered her majesty.

"Debby was a great bear," said Jos Gatien, the zoo's senior bear keeper who worked with Debby for 13 years. "She acted like a grumpy old bear a lot of times. It was great. She had a lot of life in her, a lot of feistiness."

Debby was born in the Arctic islands of Russia and came to Winnipeg a year later, in 1967.

While most polar bears live into the 30s in captivity, she became a fixture at the zoo, outliving her mate Skipper and giving birth to six cubs.

Just this year she was recognized as the oldest living polar bear by the Guinness Book of World Records.

But her longevity took its toll. A series of strokes left her disoriented and with some facial paralysis. Although the situation was controlled for the last two years with medication, she began to deteriorate over the summer and the decision was made to put her down after she quit eating over the weekend.

"It was very difficult. Debby has been a longtime member here at the zoo. She's been here longer than any of the employees. Everybody that works here has got to know her very well," said Glover.

Debby's guardians will decide what to do with her remains. Skipper, her mate of 32 years, had his ashes scattered near Churchill, Manitoba, on Hudson Bay when he died in 1999.

Robert Buchanan, president of Polar Bears International, praised Debby as "an Arctic ambassador of polar bears to the world."

"We'll miss her," he said.
