  • The Tattoo - designing

    Tuesday, Nov 10, 2009 4:08PM / Standard Entry

Found a cool application online at:

    www.makesweet.com

it's helped me greatly in my attempt to design a tattoo that holds a special significance to me.

after numerous attempts, here's the latest version

*Tribal sun with Avryl's Chinese name - centre of my universe
*Flying 'fish' with outspread wings - me orbiting my sun
*the entire arrangement somehwat resembles a tiger (dot the eyes for added effect), which is my chinese zodiac.

well,  this obviously cannot be the final design....so we'll just have to wait and see what else it'll turn unto.....

  • The Tattoo

    Friday, Nov 6, 2009 3:11PM / Standard Entry

Some time back, i blogged about getting a tattoo and how i had it drawn on just to see how it'd look:

Some fellow AnD'ers gave some pretty positive comments...Thanx y'all :)

While i really liked the positioning (easily conceallable, and i can see it without a mirror or bending over :P) and the sun design.... the spiral, twirly whirly  in the centre kind of doesn't mean anything to me.

Well, these last couple of days, i relooked the idea...cos i really want to get a tattoo. i mean come on, i'll be 35 years old in another month or so, i know what i'm doing....or rather, i'd better know what i'm doing :P

Anyways, a tattoo being permanent and all, i asked myself, "What is the one thing in my life that will never change, no matter what?"

The answer came to me in an instant

(Avryl on her 7th birthday this October)

And that's how i came up with this design, hand drawn with a mechanical pencil (Avryl's), a compass to get the circular shape, and a black marker to fill in the colour.

All i did really was replace the spiral with the Chinese character for "sweet".  If you don't read Chinese, it's "TIAN" in Mandarin or "TIM" in Cantonese....thus: Avryl Chaar Tim. :)

Of cos, this is only a preliminary design. i'm still considering what colours to put in or at least have some shading.

Hey, if anyone here has got any cool suggestions, please please feel free to share them with me ok?

  • I brought my 6-year-old to a R21 shoot

    Thursday, Nov 5, 2009 2:02PM / Standard Entry

    The story goes...

A married couple decides to make a baby...

She goes: "I can't do it in our dreary bedroom....lets get out of the country, book a REALLY nice hotel room..."

So the eager parents-to-be left the tiny island of Singapore...

...for the even tinier island of Sentosa.

They had a great view from the balcony...

But the view wasn't quite enough to take his mind off the mission...

It was time to take the action inside...

He wastes no time getting down to business...

    But something was bothering her...

So he tries to get her to open up....about her fears...

But he couldn't get her to open up...

He decides to go for the hands-on approach

    Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBNqsRvxtP4

    He goes:"What's the matter wit'chu?!"

    She goes: "........"

    He goes: "I - can't  - hear - you! You - gotta - speak - louder!"

    She goes: "......"

He goes: "If you don't speak up, I'm gonna have to stick a ear in your mouth!"

She wasn't particularly fond of the taste of ear wax, so...

...she stuffs her face with the complimentary fruit platter instead.

And she wasn't about to share either.

    Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_UZ0tJuuBAI

    He just couldn't do it...

...it wasn't worth smashing a 200 dollar table lamp for a piece of fruit.

But he did come to a conclusion:

    Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfaNAg599KI

    She pleads for forgiveness

She goes:"At least let me try out the other bed...we came all this way."

So he lets her ly down for a while.

    He goes: "Had enough yet?"

He goes:"I don't wanna sit here watching you test the bed..."

He goes:"How long exactly are you gonna take?"

    Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1k_gC8eFd4

Just as he was about to get it on, she vanishes into thin air...

...and re-materialises at the dressing table, pointing the same knife at him.

And even though he could be pretty quick with his hands...

...he knew he'd met his match.

She goes:"I should have told you about my power of teleportation...."

"....and i really wanna have your baby...."

I'm sorry for the lousy story telling. I'm not suppposed to give away the actual plot.

Just wanted to show you guys some screen shots and excerpts from the local feature film "FEMALE GAMES" directed by Kan Lume, which really is rated R21 for nudity and strong langguage.

And in case you didn't know, the little girl really is my then 6-year-old daughter Avryl. It was shot  in Oct 2008.

    :)

  • "I Don't Care"

    Friday, Sep 25, 2009 8:04PM / Standard Entry

There comes a point of time in everyone's life when you just stop giving a hoot. When it no longer bothers you what other people think of you, what they might be saying about you...what you do, how you choose to live you life, who you hang out with, the way you behave, the words that come out of your mouth or the way in which you say them...

    Yes, i remember.

But this entry isn't about that at all.

This entry is about a song of which the lyrics i hardly understand but the tune just stuck. And i think the MV is pretty cool.

So please, sit back and enjoy it. :)
