    Day 4, 28 Aug 2008

The trip to Disneyland left my in-laws totally worn out. So it's just gonna be Avryl, my wife Denise, my sis Esther and me going to Ocean park.

We bought tickets at the booth right outside Admiralty MTR station's exit B and hopped on a doubledecker (629 was it?) right to it's door step...though i don't recall a temple being there 11 years ago

    Wife, Daughter, Sis

It seemed that we have arrived at the entrance that is further away from the kiddie side of Ocean Park. Most of the rides we'd encounter first have a minimum height requirement of 122cm

We decided to forego a couple of rides and headed straight for a series of escalators up  the hill towards the Ocean Theatre, passing by Pacific Pier

i wasn't exactly sure what a pier was doing up on the hills till we got inside...

...even with Avryl's help, i still couldn't figure it out...

...but at least the seals were happy, one ontop of another...

...and Avryl was happy, on top of a seal ;P

Reaching Ocean Theatre, we were greeted by this beautiful mosaic dolphin...

...before being treated to some aerial acrobatics by real ones

The next sector had lots of fun rides...

    ...and games

Next up was my favourite...the giant aquarium

Next we saw some Chinese sturgeons...

...which  have somehow achieved National Treasure status...

...presumably for having been around since pre-historic times.

    Next up, jellyfish

The scenic cable car ride that followed took us to the other end of Ocean Park  and...Kid's World

We still had 1 last area to cover, the Sky Fair. But there was something else i absolutely did not wanna miss and time was running short .  At 7.30pm, we made a mad dash for the Giant Panda Habitat. Unfortunately out of the 4 pandas they had, only 1 had not yet returned to it's room...

    ...but she was sleeping

We hung around, as the gallery emptied out, till we were the only four human beings left with the slumbering panda Jia Jia.

Just as we too were about to go....

    ....priceless :)

    Day 3, 27 Aug 2008

This was the day our trip to HK is all about...to take Avryl to Disneyland!

We set off at about 9.15am for the MTR station.
This is the regular MTR cabin, with regular windows and handgrips...

    ...and then there's this:

It's a long walk from Disneyland station to the entrance...with a huge fountain inbetween

    we got sprayed

First thing we did was to take a train ride from Mainstreet

We alighted in Fantasyland and hit the kiddie-rides.

Now i knew Dumbo could fly but...

    ...a boarding pass?

With the multitude of park visitors, we wondered how Disneyland was kept so clean and tidy.

Our query was answered when we met this busy little guy...

...so i made him hold still for this photo ;P

Even though it was an extremely sunny day

I didn't see a single bead of sweat on the performers

And they weren't about to leave us sweltering in the heat either.

This is before we got sprayed by the WATER PARADE.

We spent most part of the day in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. Towards the evening, we headed to Adventureland to catch the Lion King musical performance.

We met some friendly  "natives" along the way...

...but this was for me, the highlight of the day:

No..i don't mean Avryl stick her tongue out at me...

    A truly first class performance.

As the light faded, we climbed up Tarzan's Treehouse

Sure, it's no surprise that Tarzan is a tree-dweller...but  a student of Anotomy?

After dinner, we strolled around abit...

...before catching this awesome display at 9pm

The end of the fireowrks signalled the close of the day for everyone.

My father-in-law's arms got tired before we even reached the main entrance.

Avryl slept soundly in my arms throughout the entire journey back :)

    Day 2, 26 Aug 2008

i woke up bright and early, raring to go...but my in-laws were so drained from the previous day's compressed sight-seeing (my bad for wanting to revisit Macau) , we didn't set off till about 11am. i had time aplenty to take a few shots out the windows...

    ...and of the vicinity

We took the 12A bus to Admiralty MTR station and crossed to Kowloon for lunch.

i've heard of a "front desk"... but an office setup at your restaurant's entrance was something new to me:
    ,

    We ate...

    ..and we drank

Then we kinda just wandered the streets...

...before finding a nice patch of green in the middle of this concrete jungle

At the northern end of Kowloon Park.

Our walk continued till we came by this little dessert shop

    She just loves eggs

Spotted this full suit of plate armour as we continued roaming the streets

And before long, it was dinner time

Followed by more shoppipng at the night markets, before finally getting back...

    Day 1, 25 Aug 2008

Outside the budget terminal at about 8.30am

Walking out to board the the plane...it's Avryl's first flight

Landed safely in Macau at 1pm.

Then a short ride in a passenger-transporter-type-watchamacallit from the jet apron to the terminal

Deposited our luggage at the airport's baggage hold and caught a cab to Macau Tower.

    Avryl's feet...and mine, on the 58th floor

    On the 61st floor

Next, we caught  a #18 bus to the Ah Ma Temple.

Went up the steps to the righthand side. i didn't get to see this part of the temple compound 2 years ago when i did AXN MAcau Xtreme

Spotted a shop selling egg tarts and 'bakkua'  nearby.

So we headed over and got some.

Next, we got on a #2 bus and alighted about 15minutes'  walk away  from St Paul's.

Behind the facade...another area i did not get to explore 2 years ago. That's me 3rd row from the bottom, 2nd from the left

We then took a cab back to the airport, reclaimed our luggage, caught  the AP1 bus to the HK-Macau ferry terminal, boarded the 7.45pm ferry to HK.

Hope i'll get to meet as many AnD'ers as my short visit allows. :)

This ain't much of a blog entry but since you're here...check out the photos from a shoot i've been on the past 2 days:
