Sadler’s Wells, LIVE VIBE is
coming to Hong Kong! This blend of dance, live music and comedy will get an
extra jolt of excitement as UK artists combine with local Hong Kong performers
for the most electric event of the holiday season.
LIVE VIBE Hong Kong offers a rare opportunity for young
artists from the worlds of dance, music, spoken word and beyond, to present
work in a professional environment during the early stages of their careers,
and to get invaluable experience of performing in a top Hong Kong arts venue
alongside established professional companies.
LIVE VIBE Hong Kong is hosted by Hakeem Onibudo, one of
Europe's top choreographers and directors, whose credits include the
choreography for the Pet Shop Boy's "Fundamental" world tour in
2007 and Trafalgar Square celebrations in honour of the Beijing Olympic Games
in 2008.
LIVE VIBE in Hong Kong will consist of nine acts and over 60
performers under the main theme of “Chinese elements,” which include
fire, earth, wood, water and metal. This first edition of LIVE VIBE features a mix of dance genres from the hottest Hong
Kong dance crews -- including breaking, popping, hip-hop, contemporary and jazz
dance -- as well as live music, comedy and audience participation.
