  • Eve of Sin is a Metalcore band that aims to play music that is angry with heart. Our songs are not about being upset and frustrated with life, they are about being empowered by rage and turning that energy into fuel for the mind!

Alright! Let's get ready to rumble! That's right, the next show is on 3rd May 2008 at Live House, Kwun Tong! All metal bands! Woohoo!

A lot of happening in the band scene lately and for all of you who came by to the Underground 56 show and stayed till the end, thank you a lot! I hope you enjoyed all the diverse bands of that night and at least tapped your foot if not head-banged to some of our tunes :)
It was a good experience for all of us as we got to see a good variety of musical styles that night, not to mention had to be the following act to the popular band, Audiotraffic. It was understandable that the bar emptied out after that band finished as most of its listeners were probably not into metalcore in the first place so it'd be silly to expect them to stay back for something they weren't going to enjoy.

I recently watched (well re-watched) the documentary about heavy metal music called Metal - A Headbanger's Journey and it talked about the roots of metal as well as where it's going now and one thing it said was that people who are into metal almost never, ever force someone else to "enjoy" it. This is so true. So in many ways, we, well I wasn't offended when people left because I hate it when people force me to "enjoy" something that isn't my style, so in the same way, I'd never, ever force another person to sit and let us blast their ear drums with tunes they just don't appreciate.

However! If you do appreciate our music, come check out the show on 3rd May 2008, it's full of metal bands and I'm quite excited about it :) So see you in the pit! If not, see you in the comments? If not even that then let's keep it simple, I'll see you around :).

  • It's time to take off

    And so it begins...

Eve of Sin is due to play in it's 2nd gig at Underground #56 on 5th April 2008. We're also lined up for a gig at DM Plus on 26th April 2008. Shows are slowly creeping up and the band is ready to face it head on!

We're in the process of writing a new song and fingers crossed it will be ready for the show on the 26th. The reason we've been slowed down in the song-writing process is partly because everyone's simply busy (but then again who isn't) and our lovely computer died on us. We suspect the motherboard has malfunctioned and with all service centers, we need to go to Kwai Fong to get this thing repaired! Of course, even our drummer who's a freelancer can't seem to find the time to get it repaired. So what's the deal with our computer and writing songs? Well we prefer not to have to sit and verbally explain what a riff should sound like, but instead prefer to tab it out and have it played at different tempo's and styles on the computer so we all know what is our target. This also allows us to take the song back home and digest it properly (oh and practice it, but of course).

We're looking forward to all the upcoming shows as well as bringing on an energetic set for everyone who comes join the fun! Underground #56 includes other performers as well so even if you're not a big metalcore fan, come on down and check out the diverse local talent available in Hong Kong! See you then!
