no, he didn't have a nervous breakdown, no he didn't invent a new delicious cheese sandwich,  its just the hilarious repackaging that Columbia did a few years back for one of my favorite Jet Li movies, 1995's "High Risk" (鼠胆龍威).  The title is one thing, the 'reimagined' cover artwork is another:

They did this to a few of his classic 90s movies actually.  Its hard to tell which movies they are just from the covers and new titles.  I happened upon this while doing some research for work (not about Jet, but about another artist in the film).

A review of this version of 'Meltdown' is here: http://www.dvdcult.com/rev_Meltdown.htm

Eyeh - yes, by happening to be the bodyguard of one of the hundreds of guests who are taken hostage by the same guy who killed his family in a ransom ploy years earlier. What a revenge plot if ever there was one!!!

I thought Meltdown was a completely different film to High Risk when I bought it, soooo bad compared to the original, which I quite enjoyed.

Flagday - oh my,  you've never seen the real version? Just the rap-version?!?   you owe it to Jet to see the real version ASAP!  this movie is actually pretty good for what it is (a Speed + Die Hard go Asia over-the-top production by Wong Jing).

As for the Jackie parody... it is EXTREMELY biting,  and I think Jackie was probably pretty Pissed Off,  but its also kind of hilarious to see how closely they parody Jackie's real dad and manager.

This is not one of my favorite movies and it is precisely because of the failings of the Columbia transfer.  Inane dialogue.  Rap soundtrack.  I also could not understand the implication that Jackie did not do his own stunts and was a flabby drunken fraud.  I should seek out the original High Risk video but then I am at the mercy of the translators doing the subtitles which are often so ridiculous it is distracting.  I always thought this cover was a fake too.
