I take a lot of pictures and I travel to a lot of places, so I thought I'd add some of my interesting photos from Tokyo to this album. These are all the interesting 'Harajuku Girls' (and a few guys) I've had the pleasure of photographing in my trips to Tokyo.

Tell me who do you think is the most interesting! (in a good or bad way)

carmella: harajuku is the name of the neighborhood, it means 'meadow lodging' (ie: a dormitory in a meadow)

midori: yes she definitely stood out! she was also standing there very still by herself and not doing anything except posing for pictures. a bit creepy! ;-)

midori: be sure to go on a weekend. you can see a few every day, even on weekdays, but primetime is Sunday with good weather.

from what I understand most of these kids don't live in tokyo, they come from the suburbs down for the day on weekends and sit there showing off their outfits. (suburbs in Tokyo = 2 hours train ride!)

some are friendly and are happy to take pictures (especially if you ask first! and asking in japanese helps a lot too!)

i think the 'color explosion' ones fall into that category. I think Kimono is going to be next album... (the real kind, not the harajuku/on crack versions) :-D

my favorites are the altered mini-skirt kimonos that mix geisha with visual kei. plus crazy legwarmers. gotta have the legwarmers.
