Proud of being half Chinese and half Filipino, Eric Tan emerged recently as the fresh face for a new generation of earnest HK based singer-songwriters. While Tan's work is as confessional, intimate, and blues-based as that of old-schoolers like Eric Clapton & B.B King, his approach is considerably updated. His rhythmic, often bluesy guitar and vocal style borrow more from John Mayer than from any baby-boomer types, and his geeky digital music image made him instantly appealing to teenagers & tastemakers the region over.
In 2009 sees the birth of Trio Pacifico - A new blues / soul movement consist of Eric, Calvin Wong and Koya Hisakazu
Eric is also a student at the Barons School of Music and he also teaches guitar part time. He has been playing the guitar for almost 20 years
