THE POWER OF PLAY: ART, SOCIAL ISSUES AND EDUCATION IN GAMES Game Panel - Game Evening
The panel I was involved in at the SFIAAFF was about video games. It's great to have an opportunity to talk about art and video games since it's something that's new and cutting edge. The games we've made in the past range from Return of the Quack which is more traditional to games that feel like a true hybrid of games and art. My part was to show Game Night, Game Over, and the Scion Famicom Car. The other panelists were truly impressive and their lives are soaked in making games. I was actually the loner who doesn't make games.
Peter Brinson (Game Designer, Instructor of Cinema Practice, USC) - Amazing mind and he can spit out game ideas like none other.
Naomi Clark (Game Designer and Producer) - She worked on Sissy Fight. That's OG.
Eric Nakamura (Publisher and editor, Giant Robot Magazine) - Eh, he's just alright.
Michella Rivera-Gravage (Director of Digital and Interactive Media, CAAM) - The moderator who made it happen.
Susana Ruiz and Huy Truong (Founders, Take Action Games) - They're conscientious game makers.
This is a decent crowd for something that doesn't seem to fit into a film festival. Yet, it does. Imagine, films and their video games. Documentaries and their video games. It's happening and it's new.
Post panel questions. Less for me.

Calvin and Hellen's Bogus Journey.
Hellen Jo and Derek Yu.
Naomi Clark Sissyfight. She's impressive. Her new project, Miss Management. I'm sure it's better for the world that Sissyfight, but Sissyfight is legend.
The high budget sign! We actually used the pad of paper for a game making brain storming session.
Susana Ruiz and Huy Truong
Peter Brinson. Squatting down. I thought I had a good shot of him, but didn't. He made a game featuring
