There is no feasible reason why I need the
Yoostar Entertainment System, but I want it. Amazon has it on sale today for $130. Basically, what you can do is insert yourself in a movie. You can replace characters and say their lines. How cool is that?!? You can also put yourself in a tv show or NBA games. The main drawback is you have to pay extra for the clips you want to download from their database. Alright, I won't buy it. I may be able to find it cheaper. It's not really calling my name. It's just saying, "Greetings Earthling."
status: currently working and finding it hard to stay awake.
edit: About 2 hours after posting this, I fell asleep. I thought I'd just put my head back and get snuggly warm under the blanket. Oh and it started raining. Things were stacked up against me. Good thing I don't snore.

About a week (maybe 2) ago I watched MJ: This Is It. I also saw 2012 last week. Since I was home today, I watched 9.
Michael Jackson: This Is It - sad
2012 - simple
9 - unsatisfying
This Is It is strangely entertaining. What I mean is you are fully aware that not long after the rehearsal sequences, Michael died. Even during times when you forget he's dead, it comes back. Let's face it the man was a showman. The first thing that hit me was how unbelievably thin he was, not a compliment. His legs looked the size of an adult's forearm. I actually started to worry for his health when it hit me. Mijack no longer has health concerns. The concerts would have been visually spectacular. I loved the filmed sequences. What I found most interesting was the background things and how Michael dealth with his people. There may have been a Director, Director of Choreo, Director of Music, D of Vocals, etc etc, but the boss was MJ and it is 100% apparent. I loved seeing him being "handled" by Kenny Ortega. Ortega has worked with many the megastar so he knows how to phrase, ask, suggest so that the celeb does what he wants but it sounds like their idea. There wasn't too much of it in TII, but it was there. I loved when MJ basically stops and tells the music director this, this, and that. My favorite line came when he told him something should simmer "..let it bathe in the moonlight." I loved that. It was so visual. I couldn't help but here Jack Nicholson's line from Batman for a moment, but only for a moment. There's a J5 song section and I realized I had a tear in my left eye. It hit me that I will never see the Jackson Brothers (all of them) perform again. I've seen them 3x in concert and they were fantastic. It deeply saddened me. I actually have a live album that I think I'll dust off and put on the turntable. (Yes a real album and a real turntable.) TII kept my attention (rare) and, while not a fan, I can honestly say I will miss knowing that such a talent is no longer in this world. However, I am proud to have lived to see it.
Roland Emmerich should have stopped with the people in the snow with Dennis Quaid. What's it called? Day After Tomorrow? Yeah that. 2012 kept me interested and pissed me off. As a package, it's not worth paying for but seeing it on the big screen for the eFx alone is worth it. Go during discount time is all I can say. I think the failure for me were the characters. The ones I liked either didn't have enough screen time OR they weren't the hero. I really didn't care for John Cusack. I didn't care if he or his family lived or died to be frank. And, my god, can he make a movie that doesn't have a damn small dog? At least in this one more people of color had lines and actually survive.
I liked everything about 9 except for the end. I didn't know what to expect because the commercials told us nothing. All I'll say is that the animation is done well and the characters are made well. The voice acting is very good. The story, well, it's a little heavy handed.

Last night I became inspired by the avatar I created in the RPG game I play on Facebook called Vampire Wars. I change my avi often, more often than most. The current incarnation of Elicia Lafayette makes her look like a superhero to me. She is in all black (leather & lace) kind of like the Black Canary and has white hair like Storm. I started developing a story in my head that took her from superhero to political prisoner abandoned on the Water Planet. All day it was knocking around my brain and at about 1am this morning I started to write it. Writer's block gone for now. Unfortunately around 5am I was conking out. I kept dozing off. Hopefully I can knock out a few more pages. This is NaNoWriMo time. I've got a week left to get something substantial though I'm not really participating.
My writing is usually linear a to b to c and so on. This story jumps all over the place, f to b to h. I'm not sure where it's going. It's kind of fun and tiring. I only got 6 pages, but considering my need to self edit and to see things before I write them, that's not too bad. I haven't even read it to see if it's good crap or crappy crap. I also haven't done research to make sure my years jive and that my Japanese is correct. I also haven't edited. I'll do that later. The working title is Empty Streets, which I hate but it's better than what I had originally come up with. As with most things, it'll name itself eventually. Oh and there are 2 instances of foul language if memory serves, but I would say it's warranted in the situation.
Instead of cutting and pasting an excerpt, I was going to upload it to my domain but I seem to have forgotten my dang password. I'll put an excerpt up soon probably with a jpg of Elicia's current incarnation. In her last one she was bald tatted up and vamped out.

I currently have laryngitis. My big mouth still opens wide, but nothing comes out but a whisper. I still have a bad cough, but I think it and the laryngitis are caused by my sinuses. Luckily, I'm breathing a little easier, but at this rate, no NYC for me.

On another note:
Mouf went to a black tie affair tonight. Believing her shoes to be in the car she put on high top Chucks (aka Chuck Taylors aka Converses), beige and brown fatigue Chucks. They actually matched what she was wearing. The thing is her belief was incorrect. Her shoes were upstairs on her bed.

My plan was to wait long enough before calling her on the phone to tell her, but the idiot also forgot her evening bag. D'oh! She called and asked if I would go get it and hand it to her. I asked, "Is that all you want off your bed?" "Yes," she replied. "Where are your shoes," I aske her. "In the car. [pause] Aren't they?" Queue mumbling to oneself like a schizophrenic off their meds.

Yes, I gave them to her. I even allowed her to borrow a bracelet. Of course I told her if she didn't bring it back, I'd gut her like a fish if she lost it. Allyson doesn't lend jewelry often (almost never).
Oh lookie here another note:
Sometimes female hormones irritate me. I'm testy today. Last week I was a walking horny toad. Today I have argued with every male that has crossed my path.
