  • Patient Zero, New Noir Pics, and New Test Fight!

    Monday, Oct 6, 2008 10:31PM / Standard Entry / Members only

Hey all, just updating peoples on a few things:

    1. There are NEW episode 3 and 4 screencaps from our latest shoots, and soon to be some for episodes 1 and 2. To update you on their status, 1 now ONLY needs the fight, as we have finished the ending. We've started on the beginning of 2, and episode 3 is about 80% complete. 4 still needs its dialouge done, which shall be done by the end of the month.

    2. My very good friend Dennis Ruel from The Stunt People in San Fran has released his very cool short featuring peeps from the SP called "Patient Zero". You can view it here:

    Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wK68abtGhkg

    4. Finally, a long time LBP supporter and awesome friend Reuben Ortega is planning to do his first ever feature this next year, starring some of our very close friends. He's working closely with Keith on the project (who will be the DP and help to coordinate/choreograph the fights) and this is the first of many test fights they will do in prep for it. Ru is a bit rusty, but I think for not doing something in 2 years, he's never lost the moves! Check it out:

That's it! More updates eventually by the end of the week or something. Enjoy! =D

  • I Am A Child Of The Past

    Monday, Oct 6, 2008 12:21AM / Standard Entry / Members only

I am a child of the past.

I see, feel, and hear with my heart, and sometimes I attempt to put it in logic. But I will always live in the past.

    I wonder...

Would so much be different had certain things not happened?

Would I be where I am at now, had not...

    My uncles died?

    I moved?

The one I loved decided to move on?

I opted to stray away from acting?

    I continued to pursue school?

I wonder, with a considerable amount, what would be sometimes.

As much as I wonder with a considerable amount, what WILL be.

Time is a scary, scary, factor indeed. So many logistics change.

People, places, things, the world and universe itself.

I wonder if at any point in my life, will I be able to be stable?

Will I find my purpose and continue forth?

Will I find the one person that will be able to understand?

Will I myself, be open enough to understand this one person?

Will I be able to make my parents proud? My family?

Will I be able to face the challenges and obstacles ahead of me?

Of course there is no solution or answer I'm looking for. It's all merely a facet of my mind and thoughts opening up. I can only hope that I will continue through my journey and be able to adapt with my surroundings.

Yet it's a wonder. So MUCH has changed for me in the past 2 years. And even looking back on those who have kept up with me.

    9 years.

    12 years.

    15 years.

    18 years.

Friendships are astounding. Better yet, its astounding I've been able to keep so many, and gain so many more.

Life continues to surprise me daily, and reassure me that for every bad is good, that for every loss is gain, and that for every moment there is another ready to take its place.

I struggle to continue to be optimistic, and yet, I continue to be optimistic so others know there's someone there. Perhaps caring, perhaps hoping the best for them.

2 years can do alot to a person, and sometimes even to think back...

    It was like only yesterday..

Being 22 years old seems SO insignificant. I have SO much ahead of me.

And yet, I've experienced SO much in my wee 22 years. Some things I will always cherish. Some I will regret. And others I will never wish their experiences upon anyone else.

But there's always time for something. Always time to change. Always time to amend and grow and learn and experience.

Always, these words continue to go through my mind:

"There are important things in life besides work. Don't put them aside, and don't forget about them, because you never know when it might become too late..."

I try to remember. I try to learn from people's mistakes. My own, the world's, and my peers.

I am a child of the past.

I can only go forward so much, before remembering where I came from.

My mind being the way it is, I can never forget the moments.

    The little details.

    The good, and the bad.

Everything is so vivid, even to this day.

I'm learning, little by little, to open and to grow.

    To love and to laugh.

    To express and to create.

    I'm learning to accept.

    My life.

    My experiences.

    My surroundings.

    Myself.

I hope I'm a better person, or at the least, continue to strive to be a better person as I grow.

I can only do so much, and I am only human.

So we'll have to see, and I have to hope if this is true.

If I have become a better person.

If I can be the right person for a lot of people.

If I can be a good friend.

    A good son.

    A good companion.

Sometimes writing openly is a good way to express.

And sometimes it can lead to interesting encounters, or thoughts.

Right now, it's probably what's best for me.

One day I hope it'll change.

But with my luck, it'll probably happen before I know it.

I am a child of the past.

Time tends to change without me realizing it, and sometimes it's wonderful to see so much change.

    And other times...

    It's horrifying.

I am a child of the past.

Whether you like it or not, I live by memory.

    I love by experience.

    And I cherish by recollection.

    I observe.

    I watch.

    I wait.

    I calculate.

I am a child of the past.

    I lead with my heart.

And for all its faults, I love it.

    I am who I am.

    A child of the past.

  • Alert! Time To Write A Super Nerdy Blog! =P

    Thursday, Sep 25, 2008 3:15PM / Standard Entry / Members only

Splash Blue [Splash Woman Stage] - Capcom

So everyone has their nerdy moments right? Like definite moments whether its music or movies or video games or pictures or people or something! Right? Well I hope so haha.

Anyway, my big nerdom as of late is this guy:

    Mega Man! haha.

Mega Man was like THE character of my childhood when it came to video games. I mean I grew up playing an NES when it was first released in 88-89', and yea I had Super Mario Bros and Duck Hunt, which was classic of course, but nothing compared to when I laid eyes on and played Mega Man 3. From then on, thats all I wanted to be. I wore a big blue football helmet and shot nerf guns at stuff and kept pretending to slide on ANYTHING (which involved alot of scraped legs, mind you haha) and pretending I was running, shooting, and jumping my way into victory over that damn Dr. Wily and his robot masters.

[Me, in my imagination, fighting imaginary robots]

[If I had a dog made out of metal, I would name him Rush too. Actually, that's what I'm probably going to name my first dog, hahaha. Too bad he doesn't have a jetpack and I can't ride him haha]

From that point on, I've bought just about every classic Mega Man game and its X series counterparts on various systems over the years (and still own the originals mind you).

But alas, classic side scrolling stuff like that is all a thing of the past. Old glory days that were just meant to be fun times remembered. Until they released THIS on the Wii this past week:

    Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsgtDJmlqFc

Then my head just basically exploded. I mean I heard about it loosely, but havent put much thought into seeing whats it about just yet. Then I saw the trailer above and I was like !!! haha. Needless to say, I've been playing like a madman.

It's very, very epic in every fashion imaginable, as the same team that worked on Mega Man 2 (which is considered to be the best one amongst many fans) basically created a game from the ground up in 8 Bit form as a testament to bring solid, old fashioned yet simple and challenging games back on the market. And really, it plays just like any other Mega Man game. Thats the best part. Any awesome memory you have of playing Mega Man is put back again playing this game and it's AWESOME. Plus theres all this downloadable content like new stages and items and people to play as.

And thats the best part! downloadable! for $10 bucks you basically have a game thats more well made than most games out on the market now! Especially if your a fan of the old school stuff like me, I would say $10 bucks is a steal.

Besides, I guess my infatuation with Mega Man in general was the fact besides having AWESOME catchy music that steals my soul haha, it was always probably one of the most frustratingly challenging games that really tested me and yet was still so much fun to play. Like one of those good books you read or movies you watch that you can't stop watching or reading and no matter how long you go away from it, you can always come back and it'll feel the same. Always.

In today's world, its really hard to see so games being made that simple, or hell, that solidly. Too much focus now on interaction or pizazz or crazy ass graphics. I mean its nice and all, but what happened to creativity and simplicity? Not saying that the market doesn't have these types of games, but definitely it's been flooded more by games that just go "oh man HD? you bet! BUY ME NOW!" and then you go through it while having the computer tell you how to get to step a to b to c and baby sitting you along the way or just being way too damn talky just to tell you the controls.

Whatever happened to pressing a to jump and b to shoot? hahaha. Or you know, not knowing much but the essentials and figuring out for yourself? Too bad I feel society has just been too simplified and its rare for most people to use their minds to figure out stuff.

Which is always why I'm a fan of Mega Man games. They're sometimes goddamn impossible and I LOVE them for that fact. Simply cuz I really gotta try to be smarter than the level and figure out how to solve the problem with whatever I have. To me, thats always the best experience cuz nothing will ever take that away from you once you accomplish it. It's like life, really. Well save for blowing up robots haha.

Anyway enough of my crazy rant. If you have a Wii and have the patience for such a game, I highly suggest dropping the $10 bucks. It's also available now on ps3 on the PSNetwork and Xbox Live on Oct. 10th. Now back to heaven.

We yet again worked with Mr. DL Macdonald and the ever amazin' Jonny Caines BUT this time around we had the fine pleasure of having Mr. Pascal Aka and Dennis Lafond from Ottawa come out to see us. We filmed for 2 days and it was AWESOME. Much love to these amazing fellows and I really hope people shall be happy with this one. It was a great experience being out there again, and even more so watching "The Good, The Bad, and The Weird" which was AWESOME. It'll be premiering here in Chicago in Oct. so I can't wait to see it again! image

BIG thanks to DL Macdonald and Jonny Caines for housing us and staying up late to film with us, and a HUGE giant thanks to Dennis Lafond and Pascal Aka for driving out from Ottawa just to work with Shawn and I. It was wonderful working with all of you again and meeting you two for the first time and damn straight this is far from the last time. image

How was my trip overall though? INCREDIBLE! I had so much fun, more so than last year. Not only did we do this video in 2 days, I got to tour Toronto more, I told Lee Byung-Hun he was awesome and gave me a thumbs up approval, and also got recognition from the director of Midnight Madness, Colin Geddes to which I gave my demo sampler to and hope to come back next year and work on Midnight Madness with my good friend, Darryl Shaw.

You can see all the pics I took up in the new album, and really if I described everything, this would be a LONG entry hahaha. So I'm keeping it short and simple. Long story short, Toronto = the awesome, the movie was awesome, LBH is the MAN, and I love my stunt buddies to death. I'll be back next year! :D
