  • Happy Chinese New Year to all...

    Tuesday, Jan 27, 2009 4:21PM / Standard Entry

    HI everyone

Just want to wish everyone a happy Chinese New Year and wishing you all a great year ahead.
Over here in the States, although we have quite some hurdles to work through, I have faith that in time, things will all work out.  Our new president not only shows us that he does what he says, he also challenges all of us to be responsible in bringing about change. Finally we have a wise leader who brings people together rather than sets them apart.

I enter the year of the OX with renewed belief, excitement and optimism. Again, wishing you all a happy healthy and beautiful Year of the Ox.

ps. Happy Chinese New Year to everyone from AnD!

  • Scotland Reunion/ Happy New Year

    Tuesday, Dec 30, 2008 4:58AM / Standard Entry

    Dear friends,

October was a fantastic month. I went to London and had the great pleasure of meeting Kit through wonderful Eugenia's introduction. We chatted and shared our mutual stories of life in HK, New York  and LA.
Then off I went to Scotland and spent 10 glorious days with my 6 HK MSS elementary school friends. We toured castles, tasted Haggis, visited the famous Grouse Distillery, shot clay pidgeons and shared life and experiences. We had such a great time. Wish there were 10 more days. We are now planning for our next reunion, China is on our list of ideas.
I spent Thanksgiving with my husband and his family at Martha's Vineyard, revisiting fav spots that he and his brothers used to hang out in the summer when they were little. I even saw the famous carousel in town that they used to ride.
In a few days, it will be 2009, may I take this opportunity to wish all of you a beautiful, happy and healthy and productive New Year.
My ending thoughts:I refuse to believe in recession. With our collective focus and joint efforts, we can turn the tide and make 2009 a new beginning for world peace, a steady global econnomy and a safer and more green conscious environment for us all. I believe we can all make a difference.

    talk soon.

    Greetings and love
    Elizabeth

    Hi Everyone

Ping Pong Playa opened this weekend in LA, NY and SF to warm reception. It was such joy to sit with a laughing audience. Even though I have watched the film many times, each time I will always be pleasantly surprised by a joke or a moment that cracks me up. Thumbs up to Jessica and Jimmy's wonderful collaboration.

If you have not seen this film, don't wait, run and grab a friend, we need your support. I guarantee you will catch a few good laughs!

  • PING PONG PLAYA OPENS in MAJOR CITIES IN US

    Tuesday, Aug 5, 2008 1:29PM / Standard Entry

    Hi Everyone

July was a busy month. Went to New York and celebrated my niece's high school graduation. Had a brief family get together then off to Chicago for July 4th and to be with my husband's family. Now it's already August. How time flies...
Today, I just received the great announcement from Jimmy that "Ping Pong Playa" (the indie film that I was in) will be opening in major cities in the US soon. (see info below)
If none of you have seen "Ping Ping Playa", it's a wonderful story about C-Dub (Asian American) who is "my son" and "hero" in the movie and his rites of passage from dreaming to be an NBA player to  being a kick ass " Ping Pong champion" of the GOLDEN COCK tournament. This movie not only offers a lot of laughs, a lot of fun, it is also a testimony to the many talented, young and vivacious AP film-making communities that are telling fun yet topical stories addressing stereotypes in America. How can it be anything LESS when you have major helmers : Jessica Yu (director) - the Oscar winning documentarian - TV and commercial director teaming up with the fearless multi-talented Jimmy Tsai (first time writer/lead actor/producer). Jimmy also won the best NEWCOMER award from LA's Visual Communications film festival in May.  All I can say is I  am so proud of being a part of this film and I had loads of fun doing it.
To all those who live in the United States, come lend your support, go see "Ping Pong Playa" Don't forget to tell your friends !

    warmly
