Kingdom Culture Day 1

Today was so good.

We started the morning off with my friend Yonnie getting ordained by Heidi Baker at Taipei 101. It was seriously nuts… Lotta dancing, lotta laughing, and a lot of olive oil.

After that we headed off to see Pastor Philip Mantofa…

If you’ve never heard of him, you should look him up. He’s one of the most humble people I’ve ever met. Love pastor Phil cuz he’s someone that carries the raw power of God, and yet when you’re around him he’s such a down to earth loving guy.

Finally, it was hei...Read more

Ice, strawberries, condensed milk.

I love Taiwan food!

More specifically i love the desserts here. Shaved ice is something I have to get everytime I’m back. Too bad it’s not summer otherwise I’d be having the Mango shaved ice too.

This is at a popular dessert place across from Taipei national university. A MUST v...Read more

Good Fruit vs. Bad Fruit

Lot of times we wonder, why do we have to go through “tests?”

Man looks at the outside while God sees the heart. I remember JMA once told me this analogy. When you squeeze a fruit you’ll see what kind of juice is inside. Is the juice inside sweet or...Read more

Thanks but no thanks

Ugh…

My friend totally stuck his neck out for me, and it totally came back to bite him in the @#$. I feel so bad. ARGH… Good thing we can fix things.

I’m tempted to never ask for help again, and let guilt or shame separate our relationship. It was totally an accident, and i know that everything is going to be fine, but arghh… totally ZINGGED.

False humility

Recently it’s really been bugging me how people are constantly saying , ”不好意思。“ Or basically they don’t want to be thought of as bothersome.

First off let me say, “Love is not rude.”

1 Cor 13

However when people are afraid to get to know someone or afraid to ask for help on the basis of being bothersome, I don’t beleive that is humility. I hear people say I don’t want to bother this pastor because he’s too busy, or I want to get to know this leader, but she seems like she’s got her hands full. As considerate as it sound...Read more

Offense

As I was walking over to the coffee shop, I was thinking about how Jesus says to be aware of offense.

I was talking to my sister-in-law about this, and I’m pretty sure that that every offense we feel reveals a religious mindset inside of us. This is not about whether what the person did to us is right or wrong, but m...Read more

Created in the image of Love

Those of you that have sat before the presence of Jesus know what I’m talking about it. Whether it’s in the time of silence and solitude or in a moment of worship, where you feel this overwhelming sense of peace and joy, you know God is there.

As I was praying, I felt the Lord say that this is what the world is longing for. The world is longing to feel Love.

Have you ever wondered why people were so attracted to Jesus? The bible says that he hung out with the sinners of the day. How is it that someone so perfect a...Read more

perfectionism vs. excellence

Today I had the pleasure of having lunch w/ a Spiritual Mom.

She shared w/ me her journey and encouraged me so much.

One thing that hit me the most was when she described the difference between being a perfectionist and having a spirit of excellence. I’ll try my best to repeat what she said.

Perfectionism is not being happy with what you got and being disgruntled. Where as excellence is being content with you got, but always trying to improve.

I dunno.. i thought it made sense.

Festival of God’s Power

Next week is the Festival.

Last night Pastor Philip preached a crazy sermon.

Basically stretching our faith and seeing what God has done even before we see it with our human eyes.

This week I’m preparing myself for what God’s gonna do. I believe God and I’m hungry for You to show up. Jesus is gonna show up, but the question is do you have faith to believe and partner with him to do what he asks?

Do you have faith for the blind see?

To see the lame walk?

Knowledge vs. Intimacy

You can’t get intimacy through knowledge.

However, you can get knowledge through intimacy.

I can read a book about the president. I can know all the facts. But in the end, I won’t really know him unless I meet him face to face.

This is the same with church, small groups, etc…

These things are all great, but they can not supplement your time being with God.

In faith, talk to God. Fellowship with Him, and He will answer you.

“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone ...Read more
