About Me
After a bachelor’s degree at Yale University in Economics and Theater Studies, and then graduate acting work at the Yale School of Drama, Duc Luu has worked as a writer-director, producer, actor, and voice-over artist in numerous productions including: Ultraviolet (Kurt Wimmer, Milla Jovovich), Becoming, Infernal Affairs (Andy Lau), Silverhawk (Michelle Yoeh), The Counting House (RAI TV). Commercially, Duc just directed two TVCs for Suicide Prevention Services. Duc was nominated for Best Director of a Documentary at the Asian Festival of First Films in Singapore, December 2005.
Other film projects he is currently developing as a writer/director are: a romantic-comedy, The Perfect Guy which is in negotiations with several international production companies; Scratch, an urban television drama series commissioned by a Taiwanese Cable TV network; suspense crime thriller set in Shanghai Uneasy Ground; and O, an interactive videogame and franchise action adventure film. Duc Luu has also recently been commissioned to write the screenplay adaptation of the international bestseller Red Poppies by Alai, which was named Los Angeles Times’ 2004 Book of the Year and awarded the Mao Dun Prize, China’s highest literary honor.
