  it's been a while since i've written so here are some updates on what's been happening with me the last couple weeks...
  
  been a great couple of weeks for movies, and was able to catch 'there will be blood' and 'no country for old men'.  both of which i thought were excellent. for the first time in a long long time, i felt that the oscar winners were all truly justified and pretty much all the awards given were deserved.  no politics this year...
  
  last sunday tho, i was priviledged to witness one of the most gifted musicians i've ever seen perform live.  she is the japanese jazz pianist hiromi uehara, and i have to say the way the music engulfs her and takes over her almost brought me to tears.  you could just feel the music take over her as she played... and bring you along with her.   she just blew me away.  and i just have no words to describe her solo piece... amazing...  her  bassist and drummer were also talented in their own right and it was just a joy to experience...  i've added a video to give you a taste... tonight i get to see the great ornette coleman... great movies and music... a really special couple of weeks....

  so this weekend is the grand opening of RACKS shanghai, and i am totally looking forward to it... should be a total blast.  i will update and let you know how it went when i get back... or maybe 'recover' would be a better word...
